Offensive lines
 

Hi, being new to this site and a lifelong Saints fan I hope everyone will suffer the ignorance of my question kindly..... if indeed it is that....
In evaluating teams, one of the things I like to consider is the relative stregnth of the offensive line. Unfortunately, I haven't found a site that ranks them from 1 to 32, run blocking and pass blocking, respectively. ( I think both types of blocking require distinctly different talents.) I also consider this one of the most overlooked aspects of the game to the media outlets ( a la ESPN, et all). I have heard considerations like "average weight", number of "pancakes", yards per carry by the RB, number of sacks, and a few other stats that would make up the actual performance of the unit. However, I think that individual experience, and unit teamwork are also very important.
I also would like to know who everyone thinks are the top, say, 5 offensive lines in the league today. You can distinguish between run and pass if you wish. I would appreciate anyone's input and summation.

Offensive lines
 

Five top offensive lines:
Kansas City Chiefs - no weakness
Minnesota Vikings - probably better at run blocking
St. Louis Rams - Should be even better considering what players they have
Carolina Panthers - great at run blocking, mediocre at pass blocking
IF Jake the Snake = healthy THEN
Denver Broncos - good run blocking, but the pass blocking is bad enough to get an immobile quarterback killed
ELSE
Seattle Seahawks - good in both areas

I would consider the Saints OL a top ten unit, particularly because of the depth we have. They haven\'t played up to the expectations and often fail to establish their superiority early on, but they tend to finish games strongly.

I wouldn\'t include the Rams line. They are being hammered by the so-called experts. Especially for the money they make.

Pace is playing like a very average LT, and Turley is being thrown around like a trailer park Ho. They were everyones pick before the season as a top notch unit, but they aren\'t living up to it. I\'m not saying they\'re bad, just not top 5 anymore. With their patsy schedule and offensive genious they should be putting up 30 points per game.

The Saints line is deep with B-plus players. Many lines have an A player, a couple B\'s and a couple C players. The Saints don\'t have any C players and I\'d only consider Bently an A player. The rest are B\'s.
I\'d put the Saints in the top 10 though. Deuce is hit behind the line way too often to give our line top 5 billing.

I\'d add the Packers to the list. I don\'t know about top 5, but Ahman Green has had some HUGE holes to run through the last few weeks. Maybe they aren\'t as good at pass-blocking, but the Packers\' offense has been pretty productive lately. I\'d say they have to be top 10.

Despite the fact that they played like poo early in the season, I would add a healthy Eagles O-line to that list, as well as Baltimore\'s. The Eagles have several pro-bowlers, and Ogden (Baltimore) is arguably the best offensive lineman in the game.
