We severely need an edge pass rusher. JJ Watt - DE Wisconsin (6'6" 292lbs) could be a great pick.

This is definitely the year to sign a quality RB. We haven't had one since Deuce.

Ha! If we only lost enough games to get a top 5 pick

As it stands right now, it was a quality value at that pick; look Porter is going be a FA after 2011; so he's got a year to learn the system and take hold...

And don't misunderstand, I'd like to keep Porter, but they were smart to take a talented DB at that position, allowing a year of development...

When you consider we moved up for Ellis, Seventh Pick, and the Bullshinski with his Rookie holdout, the expectations are higher (Twelve sacks in Three Seasons, Two Fumbles/Minimal Impact)...

At least Bush has given us some moments with the big play...

Ranking Need by Position:

1) Defensive Line - I've been critical of Smith, but this season he's really played extremely well; Ellis, I've made my feelings known, the rest are backups on .500 teams which makes the coaches jobs (all of them) even more impressive...

Projected - At least two of the top four picks

2) Strong Safety - Roman Harper at Chicago, Roman Harper at Chicago redux, Roman Harper v. Sam Bradford and the Rams, Roman Harper @ Seattle, et cetera; doesn't deliver "think about it" hits; Chip Vaughn, what happended? Usama Young, working on his post career career when he hasn't established his professional football career; Sharper's coming off major surgery and age...

Projected - At least one pick by Round 3

3) Running Back - Thomas is a great...backup, good guy; Reggie, would be a better wide receiver/slot back (i.e. Steve Smith with a little extra); Chris Ivory...great feel-good story, WTF does that mean?!? If Pete Carroll comes calling again do we trade Bush this time for Marshawn Lynch and a draft pick?

Projected - New School pick > No Round 1 RBs...an All-Pro in Round 3, only with Drew's overflow of good play

4) Wide Receiver - No way we keep Colston and Meachem after this season, Devery lacks focus; should Bush play more WR/Slot Back, this changes; Arrington can't seem to impress enough or stay healthy enough in practice to get on the field...

Projected - Another miracle in Round 7? Not likely, but with two picks in Round 3, opportunity may present itself...

Ingram isn't projected in the top 10. He could easily be there.

Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory. We can find good RB's without spending high picks. Stay that course. Supplement with FA. The days of one back bell cows are gone.

I was looking at a draft ranking that was not updated, however I'm thinking we draft defense first round. We proved this Saturday it's the #1 priority, and we got a whole bunch of running backs coming off of IR.

But the days of RB's who can stay on the field are certainly not gone. How about a guy who can take hits?

Yeah we need a stud RB that doesn't get hurt every other play. I bet Ingram is long gone. Outside chance of Ryan Williams but I think that Mikel Leshoure could be the best back in the draft.

Doubt Ingram makes it to 24 too.

Lesoure is the power/speed RB the Saints need: #24, anyone???

Quote:

According to ESPN, Illinois junior running back Mikel Leshoure is holding a news conference at 11 a.m. tomorrow to announce he's entering the draft.

Leshoure had a breakout 2010 season, rushing for 1,697 yards and 17 touchdowns on 281 attempts. He enters the draft as the premier power/speed combo back and could go as high as the end of the first round.

He ran for 120 yards or more in his last five games of the season, including an eye-popping 330 against Northwestern on Nov. 20.
