Too many injuries

Not having PT, Ivory, Graham, Hargrove, Jenkins. That was just too much to overcome. Not taking anything away from Seattle. I watched their game last week and knew if they played with that kind of intensity again we would be in for a battle. Hats off to them. We just need to have a good draft, shore up a few things, get healthy and come back with a vengeance next year. :bng:

Speedy Ron 01-08-2011 07:46 PM

ive never seen people who are so soft. not graham and jenkins really...they just had bad timing on their injuries. pierre and ivory arre so soft its ridiculous. they dont even take poundings like steven jackson or petersons or maurice jones drews. its depressing

|Mitch| 01-08-2011 07:48 PM

yep; RB is a serious need in either the draft/free agency

BreesFN9 01-08-2011 07:50 PM

Agreed, we seem to have a bit of a soft thing going, we re gtng injuries on all sides of the ball, Ironically, when Lynch rumours started, I was thinking, man that be the kind of tough back I'd like to see in New Orleans!

BIGEASY504 01-08-2011 08:02 PM

We just can't go into the playoff game without a running game ... period! It would have saved our porous defense

breesfan27 01-08-2011 08:17 PM

Injuries kicked our butts today. That's all there is to it. That, and we played horrible.

niteadept 01-08-2011 09:45 PM

Where is a Jim Brown when you need him?!! What happened to the "real" men of football? Playing through the pain! Recruit a JB!!

Budsdrinker 01-08-2011 09:58 PM

discipline we have no discipline on defense. Everybody gives up their assignment to try and make a big play. Harper looked like a stepchild out there the way he was beaten. Gave up his man who got up off of the ground to catch a td. You have an assignment out there you must follow through on your assignment not give up on it to try and make a big play by guessing.

lynwood 01-08-2011 10:08 PM

Where was Sharper as well? Haven't heard his name called all season for making a play.

cargojon 01-08-2011 10:17 PM

Sharper is done. He's clearly lost a step, and not having Malcom today was killer.

When Bush and JJ went out, it was over. Why we tried a 2 pt conversion with a draw to a guy we signed off the street a week ago mystifies me.

pherein 01-08-2011 10:23 PM

I agree when Bush and jj went out I thought we have no chance to win a SB after this were just to banged up.

OldMaid 01-08-2011 10:29 PM

The Saints had so many players out on injury. It did not help.
STILL, they could have defeated SS.
They knew this and that in a game, there is a chance you can win or lose. This was a high stakes game.
They knew that any mistakes ,turnrovers would be costly and it was .

look at it this way, as I do, with all of our injuries

would you rather lose to:

seahawks
falcons - horrible
bears - again
patriots in the SB- would almost be embarrassing with all of our injuries

yes, we should have been able to beat the Seahawks, but just how far could we go.

OldMaid 01-08-2011 10:48 PM

I am looking your way, pherin. Yes since you spelled it out for me, yes. I KNOW you wish the Saints had won too, but I see your point. I don't want to see your point, but I do.

They were supposed to never account for the off the street guy, but as it turns out, Wynn had his eyes closed and our O-line got spanked. Why would you not let Brees pick and throw just blows me away. We live and die with our genius play caller. This time we died.

Really darstep, you think our defense was ever going to let us win that game?

41 pts by the seahawks, any idea what the Patriots would do to us?

13 TD's all season, 4 in one game. 34 pts is respectable.

This had nothing to do with offensive play calling.

darstep 01-08-2011 11:48 PM

All I'm saying is, I would trust Drew more than Wynn...that's all.
It wasn't a "Bad call". I just think Bress throwing is a better call.
We would probably shut Brady down. That's the crazy kind of stuff we do.
These same guys would find a way to hold the Patriots to our season avg - 19.
I don't know how we would do it, it would just happen. Just like the loss to these chumps and the Cleveland chumps and the Arizona chumps. It ALL falls into Paytons lap: not kicking to Washington...not spreading the field on 3rd and short...slam on the brakes Henderson returning kicks (never seen anything like it)...and everything under GW's control, ultimately Payton is responsible for it all. I love his live by the sword die by the sword style, it just looks like he's still refining that thing.

cargojon 01-09-2011 12:15 AM

And then I thoroughly enjoyed watching JJ trip over the O-Linemen on the 4th and 1 play.

i can't see Reggie or PT (or Lynell Hamilton, for God sake) doing that.

|Mitch| 01-09-2011 12:29 AM

Actually JJ was tripped up by the DT that totally collapsed the pocket. If we're talking about the same play, there were many bad ones...

Our whole interior line was knocked back on their ass.

Im not hitting on you darstep, your opinion is as valid as mine. My opinion is that the defense folded, it really didnt matter what the offense did at that point. seahawks should never score 41pts on GW. can you ever see the seahawks scoring 41pts on PIT, I mean ever? Complete failure. GW better be mortified, he just got out coached by the 23 offense in the NFL.

Cory9289 01-09-2011 01:34 AM

Everytime porno boy threw the ball, I could just feel the DB's catching on fire from being burnt so bad. I mean really, Morrah? You get burnt by...Morrah?

jlouhill 01-09-2011 08:19 AM

Look at it this way. With that defensive performance do you think GW has ANY chance of landing a head coaching job now!

I'm pretty sure that it was the o-lineman that he tripped over...but because he was shoved into the backfield. That's why QB sneak or fake and pass were the more reasonable options.

You are right. JJ should have never been given the ball to begin with.

Crusader 01-09-2011 09:16 AM

Does anyone know what happened to Bush? I just heard knee but never saw what happened.

neugey 01-09-2011 11:20 AM

Apparently, we need Tony Stark to design an exoskeleton for our runningbacks.

Or pick some that aren't delicate, dainty flowers. I know some women that would hold up better than our RB's this season.

cajun911 01-09-2011 12:10 PM

Ivory could be so awesome if he could last more than a quarter.

That's exactly what I've been thinking!
