It Was A Good Season

We had, in my opinion, a slow start. We just didn't seem right early on. We didn't play, consistently, with fire. Still, the talent on this team was enough to overcome on most Sundays.

We have GOT to figure out how to stay healthy. The injuries we've had the last two years are just uncanny. Something isn't right there, and I don't know enough to even speculate as to what it is, but we don't have one or two guys that can't stay healthy. The whole team is susceptible to whatever the problem is.

Assuming PT isn't coming back, we have GOT to draft a cat that can pound the ball and stay healthy - somebody who's on the field more than he isn't. Duh...I know...

We need help along the defensive front. Our corners may not be as good as advertised, but jeesh we get precisely zero pressure unless we blitz, and even then we frequently don't get it done.

Based on recent history, this was not a bad season by any measure. We will be in the mix for many years to come. I really thought we would 'survive' a motivated Seattle team and then take it to Chicago. It was not to be. Here's to a productive off season and another playoff appearance next season.

WHO DAT!!!

11 - 6 season including todays loss is nothing to hang our head over.

we seriously need a RB, SS, DT, OLB in free agency/draft, in no particular order...

I have to give it to you, very classy!

Cory9289 01-08-2011 07:33 PM

I don't care, this is the worst loss ever. It's one thing losing when you're an "ok" team, but not with our talent. This is a game that should have never happened.

Ashley 01-08-2011 07:34 PM

Yes it was a good season. Good post.

whatever....talk **** when the falcuntz win it.

gocowboysgo 01-08-2011 07:41 PM

The Saints will be fine next year. This is a bad loss, but let's be realistic the loss is not that surprising considering all the injuries the Saints had and the momentum Seattle came into the game with.

Still butt hurt about the Saints beating you in Atlanta?

BreesFN9 01-08-2011 07:47 PM

Is it time to use Bush and maybe our depth at receiver to get some Run stop? Bush is the highest paid unsued player in the NFL! Always hurt, fumbles, needs a fresh start somewhere else......hmmm so could A Hayesworth...one for one, I'll take it.

WVSaint 01-08-2011 07:56 PM

yes, this was a horrible loss but lets look at the facts. for any long time saints fan, you know this is still the best position our franchise has ever been in. since sean has taken over, we've had a solid chance at the superbowl 3 of his 5 years. obviously we won it last year, but its delusional to think we are going to win it every year just because we finally accomplished that goal.

im as upset as most of you right now, but we have all the pieces in place to have many more opportunities and stay competitive which is exactly what i want this team to be. being fans of this team i know we tend to look at the bad side of things because thats what we are used to, but we are still one of the best teams in the league with a solid group of guys to continue building around.

we'll get 'em next year.

Ok quiet time for you, the grown ups are trying to have a conversation.

breesfan27 01-08-2011 08:00 PM

This season will go in the books as a great season for us. We made the playoffs for the second year and we are getting better. Next year, it's ours. Everyone else better clear a path.

Indeed ... and what Saintfan said ... Bush is way overpaid ... and we need more bodies to stay healthy.

Greg M 01-08-2011 08:06 PM

Congrats on a good season y'all, I was pretty surprised y'all lost, my post about the Refs bein' from down south was supposed to be humorous. We, The Falcons Nation had hoped to host y'all in the dome, I guess the next biggest match up for us would be the Eagles, but then I don't think we would draw them if they win. oh well, see y'all next year.

oh yeah, Speedy, who IS that in your Avatar ?

Your team will never win a SuperBowl and your team will get destroyed by either the Packers or Eagles.

Signed the Who Dat Nation!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! We humbled them in their dome..... He ought to be grateful that we don't meet again.....

CheramieIII 01-08-2011 08:57 PM

Another great season. We need to get our running game in order and the defensive line and linebackers need a few upgrades. We missed MJ tonite, as well as PT and CI. GREAT SEASON BOYS. Let the pain fuel the fire.

darstep 01-08-2011 09:02 PM

It was a good season. 11-5 after a Superbowl - that's good stuff. We could have beaten any of the teams that are still alive, and we ALL know that. We didn't get it done when we needed to. So we pack it up and start looking to next year. We'll bring a lot of positives with us and have a lot of work to do to REMAIN one of the elite teams in this league.

WHO DAT!

GeauxForMore 01-08-2011 09:05 PM

I agree with you all. Just one small problem. WE DONT KNOW THERE WILL BE A NEXT YEAR. Damn NFL

WhoDat!656 01-08-2011 09:06 PM

I wanted the Saints to win the Super Bowl this year so that we wouldn't be one of those one-win teams like Tampa or the Ravens.

Looks like we're going to have to take the Patriots route. Win one, miss the SB, come back and win two in a row.

Actually Little darlin' as I stated in my earlier post we WANTED to host y'all again, our loss and y'alls, as it would have been a HUGE game, again congrats on a great season. I ain't the other guy, not here to troll, just to discuss football.

jprime18 01-08-2011 09:23 PM

Well, we can look at it this way.

It's better to lose now than later, we get a better pick.

NEEDS:
A healthy RB
DT
DE
OLB

RaginCajun83 01-08-2011 09:37 PM

Here's to a good season, Saints made it back to the playoffs after winning, the talent is here for them to be competitive for years to come just upgrade the oline ( both tackles) and the defense

We need help on the OL as well. Can't make 4th and inches that's pretty sad.

papz 01-08-2011 11:18 PM

Didn't read a single post in this thread... but, we had a hell of a season. **** happens and it happened to us.

To next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OldMaid 01-08-2011 11:25 PM

Thanks Greg M and gocowboysgo.
The New Orleans Saints are worth so much to the city. The city and area needs that ball club. I don't want to sound like a broken record here, but you all know what I am talking about.
The Saints are one of the few pearls there is in the area.
Something to be proud of now during Payton's years and even over the many, many losing years, the fan support was there and money going to the area from having the Saints.:bng:
The Saints during Payton's years are the best it has ever been.
Many other NFL teams would not mind trading their 2010 record for the Saints record.
Go Saints Geaux!!!!:bng:
Thanks :bng:Saints 2010.

Oh and if you had gone all the to SB 2010 and lost,no matter how, there would have been another parade, big clebrations, the works.:D

Rusty 01-08-2011 11:28 PM

It was a great season Thank you guys If I was in New Orleans tonight I would be at the airport welcoming them Home :bng:
