There is room on this team for Fred Thomas, I\'m not negating the fact that we need help at the position, but Fred can play on my team any day.

I say forget Tebucky Jones salary if saints are able to pick a good free safety in the draft like Sean Taylor, Miami

Tebuckey\'s here to stay dude, forget it.
But I would draft a safety in the 3rd or 4th round and let him develop for a year or two like Mel Mitchell did.

Draft:
1st round: Lavellei (or however you spell his fricking name) if he slips to us.
If not the highest rated LB/CB/DT(2 gap type)
2nd: Highest rated LB/CB/DT(2 gap type)
3rd: Highest rated LB/CB/DT(2 gap type)
4th: Highest rated LB/CB/DT(2 gap type)
Starting to get my thought process here?

With Cie Grant (shame he got hurt), a high round LB (who should be able to start right away) and whoever steps it up from the group we have now, we should have a pretty good group.

Also:
Re-sign Boo Williams.
Pick up a decent veteran 2-gap DT while our LSU boy develops.
Pick up one of the several vet CB\'s available next year.
Pick up a good FA RB to back-up Deuce (or draft one).
Pick up a good FA WR (possession type, sure handed).

Whether we agree or disagree; its all for Him.

Howdy.

Since I live in Madison, Wisconsin right now, I\'m not able to see all of the games (instead I get to watch the Packers and the Bears... let me tell you how fun that is...). Could someone please tell me why we are so high on Cie Grant? I thought he was undersized, and he has been hurt twice this season (if we include preseason). Is there any reason to think he is an answer at LB at all? And would he play inside or outside?

I agree that we should resign Boo. Also, Fred Thomas is the man - even if he is only three apples tall.

Are we talking about resigning only starters in this thread, or will anyone do? I don\'t see why we wouldn\'t keep M. Lewis and T. Gardner. The Beer Man deserves at least one more season after what we saw he COULD do. Talman will take a year or two to develop, but as I understand it he has some skills.

On another note, what the heck happend to Henry Ford? I thought that was a decent signing as a backup.

I\'d keep Bellamy. He\'s played well and should be kept as a backup safety while our draft picks develop. Tebucky probably should get one more year to develop and then be tossed if he doesn\'t produce. I\'d also push to keep Terrelle Smith even though he has hands of stone. He seems to be a good lead blocker. I\'d try to keep Pathon around because of his work ethic. He should be a #3, not a #2, but he\'d be a great #3 WR. On special teams you have to want to keep Macafee, Lewis, and Gleason, not to mention both kickers.

And get rid of Brooks if Manning is available in the draft. There-- I said it. Now this thread is officially another Brooks debate.

Tweeky,
I don\'t know who or what position Lavelli play. I know people in here is not going to believe this but I seriously think the saints are going to draft a Offensive Tackle in the 1st rd.( Nat Dorsey)
