I'm sure it's not a money issue. Coaches are competitive SOBs. If one gets the chance to get one of the most coveted positions in the profession, they would be a fool to pass up on that chance.

Good Luck to you GW. You will be missed.

Deuce, I don't think the gameplan was the problem. It was he execution that was the problem. Hell, that one run by Lynch, there were nine, I say again, nine Saints touch him before he went into the endzone. None of them brought him down. That's not lack of gameplan, that's sorry execution. So yes, Greg Williams deserves some of the blame for Saturday, but I put most of the blame on the players for not getting it done. We all know what Greg Williams can do with a defense. We' e seen it. He can make every team fear us. He can do it again, and if we lose him, in my opinion, it will be a devistating blow to our team next year. Just my opinion.

I agree Srgt. But by the time that Lynch atrocity took place there was so much BULLSHHIT that transpired, If I was GW, I would have been blocking passes and making tackles myself. Hey, I made it half way down my driveway after that early rainbow pass in slow motion. Ugh... I'm watching this shhit replaying right now on NFL network... oh gawd... there goes my appetite again...

Williams to the Broncos, Thanks but no thanks ya'll are a mess.

Precisely. Why would Gregg go to Denver for anything other than a head coaching job (in which he should only remember his years in Buffalo to reconsider)?
He's got cash. A wonderful community to preside in. A quality football team that will contend for at least some years to come. and he'd flush that for.....Denver.http://209.85.12.234/html/emoticons/unsure.gif

If you want a 'challenge' Gregg, fix the ailing DL and some suspect DB play. There is your homework for the off-season.

The good news is that he and Fox are both interviewing for this job, meaning one would not get it. We will get one of them. D will be fine.

The X factor with Gregg Williams going to another head coaching job, is his son. He almost certainly won't take a new job unless his son goes with him, a package deal, and the way these things tend to work, I would imagine the elder Williams would not take a new head coaching job unless his son received a significant promotion in the coaching ranks of the new team, as well. In other words, if the Broncos want Gregg Williams to be their head coach, they are not going be able to hire the son as water boy or just bury him on the minor coaching staff somewhere. Not only Gregg, but Blake Williams' new job with the new team will have to be better than what he has now.

So if you are a team that is looking at Williams, that is something to keep in mind. I'm not knocking his son in any way, or questioning his capabilities. He's definitely his dad's son....a very intense competitor. I'm just saying that to be a team that hires Gregg Williams, you will probably have to have CONFIDENCE in the son as well, to take on a larger role in the team, and do more than just compile scouting reports etc. There may even be a coordinator position involved. And the son is pretty young still. So that X factor could theoretically make a new team's decision to hire Gregg Williams a little tricky and complicated.
