That's what they tell me, and I believe it, from what
I've seen in person.
I remember in summer '06, after the Saints had finished a 3-13 season, we stopped at Milsaps for training camp. Everyone was excited about
the Saints returning, and about drafting Reggie, but realistically, nobody thought we were winning anything.
Here's a team that never won anything, went 3-13 the past season, and showed no real reason to expect anything. But there those MS people were, sitting faithfully on the sidelines, in the heat, watching practice, wearing Saints stuff, and cheering the players on. And I knew they had been fans for a long time, faithful, and I dont know why. We've never won crap, and here were these people that I could tell cared just as much as I do, and they dont even get any mention. I was super impressed with Mississippi folks.
I want to thank you, MS fans for helping to save my Saints. I know you had a hand in selling out the Dome, and I know you buy the merchandise and support the team, and you also support New Orleans.
If I owned the Saints, I've said this before: 1st, I'd make Milsaps our training camp home, at least every other year, (and rotate among NWLA, Lafayette, etc.). I'd play one preseason game a year at one of your colleges. And I'd bring the Louisiana patch back to the uniform on one sleave, and add a Mississippi patch to the other sleave.
Thank you Sapper, LB, Poydras, and all of our Mississippi brothers and sisters. You Dat.
