Medical Doctor questions Drew's ability to recover from MCL injury

As a biological scientist who has extensively studied the human body with regards to diseases, injuries and patterns of recovery, the recent announcement by New Orleans Saints Quarterback, Drew Brees(notes), that he played the entire football season with a sprained MCL has made me question his ability to fully recover from it.

What a quack. Brees sees Dr. James Andrews who is a REAL medical doctor that has dealt with these injuries for many years. I'm sure he has a better grasp of things than this wanna-be.

Here's what this "doctor" has in her bio:

Halina Zakowicz

I am employed in the biotechnology field. I am also an affiliate marketer, freelance writer, and SEO/SMO specialist. I am building a Web site and blog called Your Money and Debt, which provides readers with financial advice and money-making tips.

Yes, she has a PhD so she is technically a doctor, but not in medicine.

Education/Experience

Western Illinois University, B.S., Microbiology, George Washington University, Ph.D., genetics

This!

If a real doctor like Dr. James Andrews can fully reconstruct a shoulder and then have that shoulder being pushed to the limit every day, i don't think an MCL sprain that most likely has already recovered giving drew any problems.

Seems like everyone calls themselves doctors these days if they wear a white coat.

I am building a Web site and blog called Your Money and Debt, which provides readers with financial advice and money-making tips. I also have an exercise gadget (the snake-weight) and video available for 19.99 for this amazing tv offer. You just insert the snake-weight right here, and start pumping for an exhilirating, calorie burning, sensuous workout. Lube not included.

The real question is why does yahoo print this crap?

Indeed what a joke. Why would someone even risk their "reputation" by writing this. No background in the field she is commenting on whatsoever. It's too bad that no ramifications will come of this pathetic article. I say we keep her link information and around week 13 or so of next football season, we pull it out again and ask her how she thinks his recovery has gone so far.

Yahoo has been writing some pretty shaky, poorly thought out stories in order to increase their visitors and hits. Many of these have little journalistic substance and are just glorified blog posts in disguise. As a Yahoo mail user, I've noticed this increase over the last year or so.

Quit making fun of Yahoo. I'm thinking about applying for a job with them.
