Move over Bushrod, Here Comes Charlie Brown!!!!

Jahari Evans got broke off, Now gotta do a little bit of the same with Nicks. We all know Evans is better, runs go more to his side but we can't afford to lose Nicks either. Which almost certainly means that bye - bye Bushrod. Too many false-ies!!! Gets beat way to much. Time for the draft pick to get a shot at camp next season. Please, nobody let him kick the damn ball.

Gotta say i agree with ya.
I was hoping to see Bushrod play better being that's its his 2 year as a starter, but he still can't handle the bull rush and gets flat out pushed into drew nearly every play.
Let's see what brown can do, hopefully he can be how jamaal brown was in terms of pass protection, he hardly ever got beat

I'd like to see more of Charlie Brown.

I think he did play better...just not well enough to fend off Charlie - at least that's what I'm hoping...

if charlie was so good he would have made an appearance this year. why do people always think the back up is better?!?!?!

If Bushrod leaves and signs with the Browns for 4 times what he's worth, you'll hear how great a player Bushrod was and what a huge loss we suffered by his departure.

Exactly...the backup quarterback was always better in New Orleans when he was'nt named Manning or Brees...

You spend a 2nd rd pick on him. I want to see what CB has.

RaginCajun83 02-04-2011 10:49 PM

Not saying he's better than Bushrod but I'd like to see if CB has what it takes to start, most 2nd rounders see action their first year in the league

Honestly, we do not know what Charlie Brown brings to the table. The good news is he has a year of training under his belt. Very nice luxury to be able to sit a rookie for a year and get him ready. I say let Brown and Bushrod battle it out, may the best man win.

saints1234 02-05-2011 12:11 PM

........................and may that best man be CB

This.

saintsfan601 02-05-2011 01:30 PM

I think we should trade Bushrod to the Redskins for a 3rd round pick.

Because occasionally they are?

Nicks was a back-up, took over for Nesbit
Jenkins was a back-up, took over for Sharper
PT was a back-up, took over for Bush
Ivory was a back-up, took over everyone
Goodwin was a back-up, took over for Faine
Bushrod was a back-up, took over for Brown
Deuce was a back-up, took over for Williams

I think the only backup on that list that wasnt better than the starter was Bushrod over Brown.
In my opinion, even though Brown would occasionally get tagged with the ole false start penalty, I never once saw him get bull rushed into drew, you could always count that brown would destroy the DE in pass coverage, he was a damn good LT.
now I'm glad we have the draft pick that we got for trading him, still doesn't diminish the fact that brown was alot better than Bushrod.

TheDeuce 02-06-2011 02:46 PM

You can never have too much OL depth. We need to keep both Bushrod and Brown, and hope that Brown develops into a star. Bushrod, however, is a very serviceable LT. Not great, but the OL was pretty good this year and definitely not the reason we lost in the first round.
