Drew Brees would consider political career

I'll follow you anywhere Drew. I have accepted Breesus into my heart. Have you?

Drew has more class than any professional sports star I can think of. I love Drew the football player. I love that he has delivered the Saints to the promised land. I love what he has done for the gulf region. I love what he has done for the state. But none of these translate into an automatic vote. I will have to wait and see how he stands on policies.

This. I would admire him, because I know he'd be in it to do the right thing rather than to collect a pay check/free ride like so many politicians, but I can't say I'd be on his political band wagon until I know where he stands on things that matter. Something tells me he and I would agree more than disagree, but with politics, like religion, you just never know.

He'd make an honest public servant though, regardless of his leaning. I'm sure of that much.

There's no such thing as an honest Democrat.

If Brees is a conservative, I'll do everything I personally can to help him succeed.

If he's a liberal, I'll do everything I personally can to see him fail miserably and I'll find as much joy and happiness in his defeat as I did in his victories as a Saint on the field.

Well, he's too old to be a full-blown liberal. With the exception of mental illness, full-blown liberals grow out of it when they start paying their own bills. LOL

Don't do it Drew. Tom Osborne regrets it.

Speedy Ron 02-07-2011 07:46 PM

id vote brees no matter what

Saintswrath 02-07-2011 09:33 PM

Politics can make people turn against you and you turn against the people..
stay away from it Drew even though you'd win any office you'd run for in the state of Louisiana.

breesfan27 02-08-2011 12:23 AM

I will move to Louisiana to be first lady if Drew gets elected into office! :D

And you'd convince Drew to give me a job. You want to convince Drew to give me a nice cushy state gig. Drew would want me to work for him and you would help me. Because you want to.

I have some things I want to say here, but I'm just not gonna do it. I will reserve the right to go there if I find my suspicions are correct at a later date.

This is as far as I need to read this thread. One secret to my success at B&G is laying low in the political
discussions. Politics makes enemies of people who should be friends. Case in point--- Site X. Reading that place is like watching that little girl on the Exorcist turn into a booger-- you can count on it.

I agree, E. If Drew steps into the political arena, half the people will automatically start hating him. I just read where Mike Douglass advised
Oprah to stay out of politics, but the same thing has happened to her.

Lets keep our board clean.

RailBoss 02-16-2011 12:52 AM

I agree with Skymike this is one place to keep the politics out. If Drew decides to throw his hat in the ring then he should do it when he retires from football.

jeanpierre 02-16-2011 05:34 AM

Stick to Football

TheOak 02-21-2011 02:21 PM

Drew has proven to have more sense than to enter the political world. Politics is a catch 22, the right person for the job is the one with enough intelligence to stay as far from it as possible. No person in their right mind would do that to their family.

Drew, just say NO!
