Evans, a 10th-year player, returned to the field this summer after suffering a season-ending ACL tear in his right knee in October 2009. He showed determination and dedication in his rehab and was on the field when the team opened training camp.

He played in all 16 games this season, capping his comeback by catching a touchdown pass in his home state of Florida in the teamís 31-6 win at Tampa Bay.

Evans is hosting his third annual celebrity softball game in Jupiter, Fla., tonight to benefit the Heath Evans Foundation, which aides victims of childhood sexual abuse.

The Ed Block Courage Award Foundation will celebrate the 33nd annual Ed Block Courage Awards March 8 at Martin's West. One player from every NFL team will be honored for his commitment to the principles of courage and sportsmanship while serving as an inspiration in the locker rooms and community. In anticipation of the big night, PressBox is profiling each award winner.

solid pick, its probably the end of his playing days but he could possibly hang around and help in player development or something. i believe he was on his way to his best year of carreer when he tore the knee up.

A FB help develop a player??? Not at FB???

All you need is a "Hey Junior hit the first guy you see, and try to take out two of them at the same time if you can", type player.
Hell we did pretty good that SB run without him. He comes back and we can't win a playoff game HA! I know stretch.

BYE BYE EVANS!!!

I say cut him sooner than later. I think we can get a suitable back up out there in FA or even draft a decent enough one. Besides we sue TE's more and better than the FB position if push comes to shove.

I just didn't see it in him this year, missed blocks not getting out there and hitting anymore.

Thats a big 10-4 good buddy.
We need to make a few cuts on our own roster here.

Congratulations, Heath Evans.

Your average NFL player would struggle to function after the injury you've
suffered.

Your average fan has no concept of the work and pain involved in rehabbing such an injury.

And then you came back and started.
