Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints: Time to Draft for the Future? | Bleacher Report

WhoDat!656 02-28-2011 05:19 PM

I meant to add, I shouldn't be surprised since the Bleacher Report is about as close to a real sports report as a Dick & Jane reader is to winning a Pulitzer Prize.

There's an idiot on every corner these days...

Beastmode 02-28-2011 07:24 PM

I knew this day was coming 3-5 years from now. I guess it's time to face reality.

The 49'ers went out and got Steve Young even with Montana still playing great; though it sucked for those two guys (largely their own faults), it was a franchise that said we all have to play championship football...

That said, what F***ING MORON could suggest the Saints investing a high pick in Ryan Mallet; what a goober; I can honestly say that the Saints would fall off my radar if they drafted this idiot with a high pick or worse, that "other kid" from Auburn...

Gotta be a Falcons fan going to Loyola majoring in Journalism...

"Moron" (as said like Ford Fairlane)

Let's see Brees played injured all season with running backs that went out injured every week. I think the defense is the sore thumb that's where the focus should be. I'll stick with Brees to the end period!

BringTheWood 03-01-2011 01:27 AM

A moron, to be sure. Brees might have 6+ years left of championship football if he stays healthy. Far too premature, and like everyone can conclude, it's laughable at best to assume we'll invest a high pick in a QB. There are plenty of QBs available in years to come and rarely are the touted ones from college the ones that pan out.

Rugby Saint II 03-02-2011 07:26 PM

I guess we're stuck with Drew.

foreverfan 03-02-2011 10:01 PM

He brings up some valid points.

How long will Brees shoulder hold up?
Can Brees continue to throw for 4000+ yards?
Do we need a better backup?

OldMaid 03-03-2011 03:55 AM

I don't like the article being a Saints fan, it touches a nerve.
Brees still has more good years to come.
I agree with foreverfan. The time to start rebuliding a team is when you are still doing well and are on top.
All SB teams go through rebuilding.
The NO Saints SB team has been breaking apart. I mean some of the SB players are moving.
That happens.
I see nothing wrong with getting the best players, and a good
back-up qb, to train now.
