I'm curious, what makes you think our RBs will be healthy this year? Do you see them getting tougher than they have been the past three seasons? Do you see other team's defenses getting weaker? Based on their historical records, the RBs being healthy this year is as likely as the Saints being able to draft Patrick Peterson with the 24th pick. The fact is this group of RBs has NEVER had a season where they didn't all miss games. Counting on it to be otherwise is a wish. Do you realize the last RB the team had suit up for all 16 games was Aaron Stecker in 2007?

I know that the defense wasn't stellar, but what about the 4th and 1 we couldn't convert in the playoff game against Seattle? What about the fact that the team was ranked 28th in the league in rushing yards per game and 24th in rushing TDs per game?

Look, I'm not saying the D doesn't need help, but it seems like many people are looking back on the feel good story of the undrafted Thomas and how he helped the team win it all and thinking it's going to happen again. Take off the rose colored glasses people! This isn't a re-run of Rudy! Being able to run the ball when you need to (and when the other team knows you need to) is very important in football. Quit nickle-and-diming the position and get a real RB!

I think if Ingram is there at 24, you gotta take him. I don't see him lasting that long, but that would be ludicrous to pass him up. Ingram, Bush, Ivory, and Thomas? Are you freaking kidding me?

Well Strat it all comes down to value.

If the front office feels there's not much difference between OLB#3 and OLB# 12, but Ingram is a top 10 talent, of course you take Ingram over a LB.

Conversely, if there's an OLB with an equal garde as Ingram, you take the LB.

It all depends on the Saints draft board. I personally feel that IF INGRAM SLIPS, he'll likely have a much higher grade than any other player when we pick.

So you'd prefer a LB with a 3rd round grade over a stud 1st round RB?

We need another RB; but not at the expense of a R1 pick.

First Round Picks, if a franchise is to be successful, must play 8-10 years for that franchise or get equal value in a trade.

Running backs with very, very few exceptions, only last 5-6 years nowadays...

Ingram is a good back; while he won't be there, the earliest I'd pick 'em is in late Round 2...

Ivory has a history of being injured.

Reggie has a history of being injured.

PT..... well, I just don't believe the sprained ankle deal

I don't know guys and gals. I for one am tired of us running out of running backs; and then we go and shop for has-beens. JMO, my brothers and sisters.

This dude was available to us a few years back ...
Clay Matthews, LB for the Green Bay Packers at NFL.com
We sure could use a guy like that if he were available at 24.

He'll be a great one

saintsfan1976 04-03-2011 09:58 PM
