2011 scedual to be released tommarow at 6pm our time

I'm sure we are getting the first game of the season against the Packers.

No defending Superbowl Champion has lost the opening game. To continue this streak the NFL will give Green Bay the Bears to open with. Just my opinion.

Then I'd be royally p'd off! I'm hoping that the Packers game will be late october or early november.

I think the SuperBowl champions always start the season playing the loser of the Championship Game,
e.g - 2007 colts (SB champs) vs saints ( lost to bears in NFCCG)

2010 - Saints defending SB champs played vikes who lost in NFCCG, just the way I've seen it anyway.
Doesnt change the fact that we need to dismantle the team we are playing against, no matter who it is

Just me, but I'd prefer not to play GB opening game- then again we have to play them and that might be the best time, weather- their Offense not being in full sync, but yeah I'd prefer an easier opening week. It's nice to get off to a good start and let your team play themselves into rhythm. IMHO

I could see Packers vs Bears opening game, repeat last year NFCCG and it s one of NFLs longest rivalry, I'd like the Saints to start easy with the Colts around Halloween

I'll the a "W" as many times as possible against anyone. If avoiding Green Bay first game of the season increases that change of getting a win somewhere else, I'll take it!

I actually want Green Bay. We've had success against them in the past and being that they're the Superbowl Champs... beating them would be a big confidence booster and would set the tone for our season. If we lost, well... we lost to the Superbowl Champs and should be a learning experience for a possible playoff matchup.

I'll save the league some time, here's the schedule:

It's schedule day in the NFL

Tuesday is somewhat of a national holiday in the NFC South and throughout the National Football League.

This is the day the NFL will announce its schedule for the 2011 regular season. Actually playing that regular season, of course, will be contingent on a new labor agreement being worked out. But the league is proceeding with business as usual on the scheduling end.

The announcement is coming at 7 p.m. ET, and as soon as I have a chance to process the schedule, I’ll have full analysis on the slate for each of the four NFC South teams. That should be up soon after 7 p.m.

We already know the Buccaneers are scheduled to “host’’ an Oct. 23 game with the Chicago Bears in London. That’s not a prime-time game, but it’s definitely a showcase game. It should be interesting to see how the Bucs and the rest of the NFC South fares when it comes to prime-time games.

My guess -- and this is only a guess -- is that the New Orleans Saints will get the Thursday night game to open the season against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. It makes too much sense not to have the last two Super Bowl champions open the season against one another. I’ll also guess the Saints get two other prime-time games.

I’ll put the Falcons in the same category and guess that they end up with three prime-time games. They were 13-3 last season, have a quarterback with national appeal (Matt Ryan) and a receiver capable of starting a Twitter controversy (Roddy White) at any time. I'll also guess and say that at least one of the two meetings between the Saints and Falcons will be shown in prime time, and we'll see if Remi Ayodele and his New Orleans teammates do any postgame logo dancing.

The Bucs? Well, that’s a tough one to call. They went 10-6 last season and appear to be a young team on the rise. They’re also a team with attendance problems at home. I’ll speculate and say the Bucs get one prime-time appearance and I’m guessing it will be on the road. I'm also hearing the Bucs still are a very legitimate candidate to be featured on HBO's "Hard Knocks'' this summer, assuming there is labor peace and training camp.

As far as the Panthers, I doubt the league will be giving any prime-time games to a team that went 2-14 last season fans. Carolina fans will probably be looking at a lot of 1 p.m. ET kickoffs.

A hard schedule it is, but one worthy for a Superbowl Champion!

I don't think it's that hard, only cold weather game might be Minny if their dome is still broken, Colts might kick their arse but that's the only game I'd chaulk up as a lose right now

It's sad, but I'm planning as if there will be no 2011-2012 season. They put this matter into the courts, now they're tabling all discussions until May 16. Whichever side loses will go to court of appeals and refuse to negotiate. And I would bet the appellate court won't make a decision until at least early 2012.

Yes I'm excited the schedule came out but it just reeks of the owners tryin to make the players look bad cause if they do lose games it will be decent games and it makes the players look like fools
