Do we have enough corners?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Since Payton came here he has aggressively been bringing in corners. We seem to have taken a corner every year with a relatively high draft pick since '06 when Payton arrived. He also brought in quality corners through free agency ...

Since Payton came here he has aggressively been bringing in corners. We seem to have taken a corner every year with a relatively high draft pick since '06 when Payton arrived. He also brought in quality corners through free agency and that mix makes me feel like we have one of the most talented tandem of corners in the NFL. When we look at the youth in our secondary the talent he has recruited is top notch.
There is still room for improvement in our secondary but has Payton got what he needs to get the job done? I can't wait to find out.

Please stop with what will never happen, his price is to high, Nobody else mention Nnamdi ok. Guys he's not coming here lower your standards just a little.

I do think that we have good talent at the corners, But we got torched last season by taller stronger receivers i.e Mr. Push off Roddy White, Mike Williams.

I think it would be more realistic to target

Ike Taylor
Carlos Rodgers

if you wanna get better at CB

Agreed, and I think our top 3 CB's probably are. And Patrick has some exciting potential and would benefit us more because of his special teams contributions.

With Greer, Porter, Robinson, Patrick, and Jenkins on the roster, I don't believe we'll sign any corners that'll make any significant impact. We'll probably cut Gay and re-sign Torrence... or sign a player similiar to Torrence to fill out the depth chart and help on special teams.

Well said, Papz. Corner is not an area of need. Cross Nnamdi off the wish list.

We only need as many corners as our front seven will allow to get burned out with additional run stop duties. Our corners will only be as good and as rested as our front seven will allow. If they end up the weekly tackle leaders along with Vilma, again, we may have to go deep on the depth chart, again. I could "almost" see guys lose 1/2 a step in coverage everytime they had to come up and bang in run support. I know why Harper got caught from behind...

This is a big year for P-Rob. Hoping he steps up and plays to the level that Malcolm Jenkins played to in his 2nd year under Greg Williams.
