He would be very valuable down the road going into the playoffs. Although I can certainaly understand Sharper wanting to start.

i agree he hasnt shown sharper instinct just yet...but it was also his first year at a new position at the pro level. i think a healthy young talent will get better performance than an older, hobbled sharper. Sharper does have better instincts now and that makes him able to play being hobbled. i just feel we missed jenkins when he wasnt there.

A role player in our secondary still sees a significant amount of snaps. He should already know how we're going to use him... and if that's a problem, I guess that officially makes Jenkins our fulltime FS.

If he's healthy, I'd LOVE to see Sharper at FS and Jenkins at SS, now THAT would be an awesome safety tandem

I doubt that any team would want to sign Sharper now to make him a starter.

If he re-signs with the Saints, he would get significant playing time, which is as much as a 35 year-old free safety could expect.

Harper is still our best strong and the best tackler back there. Sharper's instincts are only as good as his first gear. Sharper could benefit greatly by watching a few plays from the sideline. I hope he can perform at a high level and be a part of the 6-7 man rotation.
