I think he's one of those 2nd tier CB's that has good upside and should be relatively affordable. I'd read his name on some some experts lists of top 2004 FA CB's. Not a top fiver but top 10, I think.

Anybody know anything about him?

Speedy guy? Been playing for Jacksonville his entire career. 26-27 years old, so he\'s still relatively young. Could be a solid #2. Sad thing is, I think Thomas is a better #2 corner than this guy, I think the only thing he has on Thomas is age and speed.

I don\'t really know anything about Fernando Bryant. I hope if this is his audition that he blows this Sunday.

Fred Thomas has really surprised me this year. Someone was talking him up in the offseason. I believe it was B&B, although I\'m not sure about that. Anyway, he\'s been all over his man this year. If he could catch a football, he would be leading the league in interceptions. I think he does lead the league in passes defended.

As far as getting a mid-level cornerback, I\'m against that. This has been a problem area for WAY too long. It needs fixin\' NOW!! I don\'t want to have to hear WhoDat for another year complaining either -- :P

I\'ve always been a Fred Thomas fan- he is the top over-achiever on this team. He\'s not the fastest, he can\'t jump the highest, but he plays with a ton of heart, is a great student of the game, and has proven that he can play with a club for a hand :P

Fred Thomas has won me over this year. Not, that he played bad last year. Last year our secondary, as a group, played terrible. So, I was a little down on the whole group. This year I have watched Fred and I think he\'s done outstanding.

For a guy that is 5\' 9\"/185lbs, he doesn\'t let it stand in his way. He\'s 30 years old, so he\'s got a few productive years left. Hopefully, we can get a shutdown corner on the otherside, and I think we\'ll be fine.

Oh yeah, I remember the Q-tip on his hand last year. Just looked funny to me, but he still got the job done.

I was looking at him as maybe one of 3 CB\'s I\'d like to see us get. Not as the primary stud.
We need...
Lock-down Corner, draft or free-agent (like a Bailey/Smoot or Vasher/Strait/Poole/Robinson)
Solid vet CB that can play #1 or #2 (like a Bryant)
Draft CB that has good upside, like a Charles Tillman type.

3 CB\'s along with Thomas and Craver should definately address our needs.

OK, I see what you\'re saying Danno. I\'m all for that. But, first and foremost, I want to see us get a stud middle linebacker. We\'ve GOT to get the run defense thing fixed. I\'m sick of seeing teams run on us. I\'m a firm believer that average conerbacks can do terrific, if teams can\'t run and there is a solid pass rush to force the issue. The Redskins are a perfect example of how having great cornerbacks don\'t mean too much if you can\'t stop the run.

If we can only get a shut-down corner and a linebacker, I\'ll be extremly happy.

Redskins problem isn\'t their linebackers, hard to say that with 3 pro bowl linebackers back there. I think their problem is in the d-line. If you have a push in the line, QB doesn\'t have time to find an open receiver.

Exactly right. I wasn\'t saying the problem was the linebackers. I also feel the problem is the D-line. I should hae been more specific.
