Bush wouldn't lie to us would he?

Would be nice to keep him, however, we have too many other players to pay.

He may have lied....but I think its a safer bet that the media and/or his agent is. The media needs something to write about and his agent gets a kick back on whatever contract he signs. Maybe trying to stir the pot with the media to attempt to get a better and more lucrative contract. I'll trust Reggie until I see that he is no longer worthy of that.

It could be just media rumors...something to write about when, with the lockout (new name for strike), there is little to write about.
It could be somewhat true as well.
My thing, if Bush wants to go elsewhere or any player, then fine, go.
We fans need Saints players who want to be here and who want to try to win and not be whiners who play half-ass football in order to protect themselves for another contract from another team.

Of course he would. Bush is going to do and say what is in the best interest of Bush and his agent. He will say anything he can in order to posture himself into the most money. This is a business to them, and they aren't near as attached to the fans and the city as the fans are to them. I am so tired of all things Bush. Some team is going to over pay for him, and it won't be us. As a player he is worth the league minimum. As a brand he is worth a little more, but I don't think we will pay Bush brand money when we have FA to sign and holes to fill. He is a #3 back who is injured more than any #1 back in the league. Whoever pays him will be paying for his name and nothing more.

If he wants "a bigger profile" and wants to go be a feature or every-down back for another team, for more money, I say let him go and do it. Defenses will key on pounding him, he'll get ground down, injuries will shorten his career and he will not last long when he is not able to be a diversion and isn't blocked and protected on screens by an All Pro line like he has here. A couple of grinding, injury-prone seasons for a 7-9 team someplace else, and he'll be out the game permanently, and in the big picture he will only be remembered for his time and accomplishments while he was here. Remember it was supposed to be his big day to shine, his chance to really prove himself, and he was on the sidelines in the second half while we were losing miserably to Seattle.
