We always seem to sign a lot of WR's

saintfan 07-25-2011 11:50 PM

Maybe that FB can make Heath "The owners tried to pull a fast one on us poor players" Evans a thing of the past. LOL

FB Kolby Hurt - Missouri State
Great fullback name. I'd keep him for the name alone.

realheavyd 07-25-2011 11:56 PM

Actually, I heard Kolby Hurt is an OLB, not a FB, but I could be wrong too.

hagan714 07-26-2011 12:10 AM

Jeremiha Hunter - solid ST candidate.
Isa Abdul-Quiddus yet another solid ST candidate. had a great pro day on turf.
Dexter Larimore - extremely tough, physical player - banged out 32 reps at OU's pro dayRotational DT?

Kolby Hurt FB? dudes is a LB

WR again. always wr's

realheavyd 07-26-2011 12:13 AM

Here is the list that I compiled overnight while watching my Twitter account explode with tweets and finally ended near 1:00 AM on 07/26/2011:

Ohio St. DT Dexter Larimore
Fordham SS Isa Abdul-Quddus
Texas WR John Chiles
Walsh WR Joe Morgan
Iowa LB Jeremiha Hunter
Illinois WR Jarred Fayson
Missouri State LB Kolby Hurt
Fresno State QB Ryan Colburn

It wouldn't be the first time somebody tried to make that switch. Its just about trying to get on a roster or into a camp anyway possible for these UDFAs.

alleycat_126 07-26-2011 12:58 AM

We Like Illinois, Iowa, and Clemson for some reason where dem LSU boys at!!!! LOL

Saint_LB 07-26-2011 03:36 AM

I think Joe Morgan is getting too old...

can he still turn 2?

saintsfan1976 07-26-2011 06:10 AM

DeAndre Brown. Fellas, if the coaches can get this kid to play to his potential - sky's the limit!! Trust me, I'm a Southern Miss grad and have been following Brown since he came out of Pass Christian HS in Mississippi.

Has Colston's body type and hands with speed. Completely raw and underdeveloped. I could see two years on the PS but if he can stay healthy and get his head on right, this kid could be good.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't get much better

darstep 07-26-2011 07:04 AM

...and a linebacker who goes by the name "Hunter".
I wish I didn't have to work! I would just hang out on Airline Drive and help evaluate talent. If I could get paid for it, that would be perfect.
This is going to be a VERY good year!

If I remember correctly, isn't this the kid whose leg snapped running down the field during the New Orleans Bowl? Just snapped in half. Wasn't the same after that? You're right, he was a freak coming out of high school, but heard that the horrific leg injury took away some of that potential.

Keep an eye on DeAndre McDaniel from Clemson.... struggled during his senior season, but was a consensus All-American in 2009 and was considered the best safety in the nation coming out of high school. Dude can ball, and given our lack of depth at safety, wouldn't be surprised to see him stick.

Chiles and Brown were the first two names that jumped out to me on this list... Brown the most. This kid was a 5 star recruit coming into college but had some grade issues so went to Southern Miss because it was easier to qualify there. This kid has a massive amount of talent and a promising career until he suffered a freak injury on national tv a couple of years ago. I saw it live and it was absolutely cringing to watch... you could probably youtube it(it's nasty). If healthy, his freakish size and speed could make him an absolute steal here.

Chiles was also a highly regarded recruit with loads of talent too. Texas just had no idea how to use the guy. He could fill a Reggie Bush/Percy Harvin type of role on this offense... doing a little bit of everything. He's another versatile toy Payton can mold into a solid contributor for our offense down the road.

Don't know much about the other guys.

I just watched it. That was nasty! Holy ****! Can't believe he's still playing!

papz 07-26-2011 07:53 AM

Nastiest injury I've ever seen on live TV.

To add to his profile, there was a lot of Randy Moss comparisons for this kid coming into college.

Danno 07-26-2011 08:22 AM

Reports are saying Brown signed with the Eagles instead of the Saints.

papz 07-26-2011 08:30 AM

I'm saw that on their forums. What a waste of words if he did.

hagan714 07-26-2011 08:34 AM

he is a rational backup imo. but he plays hard and has a nasty streak so u never know. the big fear with him is he is maxed out for his frame. but i do love lunch pail players

The guy is 315lbs as i understood it. Does he need to get bigger?

hagan714 07-26-2011 08:54 AM

lmao thats a point. i do right the draft reviews. all i can say is i have seen him play. he will be interesting to watch

hagan714 07-26-2011 08:56 AM

03/15/2011 - Ohio State Pro day: NT Dexter Larimore (6-2 5/8, 319), the only one of these players not at the combine, ran a 5.11 40-yard dash, along with a 29 1/2-inch vertical jump, 8.4 broad, 4.57 short shuttle, and 7.41 in the three-cone drill. He also rattled off 32 reps in the bench press, and probably got himself drafted with these numbers. I cold see him as a fourth-rounder or below. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

We've had some pretty good luck with OSU boys.

Deandre Brown has signed with the Eagles, apparently.

jnormand 07-26-2011 12:34 PM

Well did we sign him or the ****in Eagles? Not that we need more WR's...but I'd like to know just for ****s and gigs.

This is true. Matter of fact, my buddy actually saw the Eagles Jet at the NOLA airport a little while ago. We were trying to figure out ehy and heard they got Brown before we were able to.

Bummer.

Euphoria 07-26-2011 04:45 PM

What? They don't send team jets for an undrafted player.

73Saint 07-26-2011 04:54 PM

I thought the same thing. But I know for a fact the Eagles had a plane at Louis Armstrong this morning. I just put two and two together to assume it had to do with Brown.

Why else would Philly have a plane in NOLA? Well, I guess that opens up an entirely new can of worms...

73Saint 07-26-2011 04:57 PM

And you know, the more I think about it, the more it makes me wonder who that plane was for???

Reggie posted something today about how hard this was going to be...wonder if it may have something to do with that???

saintfan 07-26-2011 05:03 PM

Just follow the money Reggie. How hard can it be?

B_Dub_Saint 07-26-2011 05:22 PM

Im liking what I see. Man the free agency is going to be crazy.

jnormand 07-26-2011 05:32 PM

Don't forget that the Eagles were supposed to be interested in Scott Shanle and he is not expected back in NOLA this year.

papz 07-26-2011 06:49 PM
