Bush for a pick and Jonathan Amaya?

what did we get with Jonathan Amaya?

Jonathon Amaya (3-D). This undrafted rookie out of Nevada intrigues me. I don't really know what he is or might be. What I do know is that I want to see more of the kid. From what I've heard, he has a little bit of that "it" factor you hear about in the defensive backfield. What I can tell you for sure, though, is that he's an outstanding special teams player who led the Dolphins with 15 special teams tackles despite playing in only nine games.

State of the Miami Dolphins Roster: Safeties - The Phinsider

Jonathan Amaya
Position: S
Class: 4Sr
School: Nevada

Conference: Western Athletic
HT: 6-0.5
WT: 203
40 Time: 4.60

Biography: Four-year starter awarded All-Conference honors as a senior after he led the team in tackles, posting 89/1/9. Junior numbers included 60 tackles and four interceptions.

Positives: Athletic college safety who will get consideration at cornerback in the NFL. Aggressive, works hard to get involved in the action, and flies around the football. Wraps up tackling and always gives effort. Displays good sideline-to-sideline range, quickly gets to the flanks, and remains disciplined in centerfield. Takes good angles to the action and displays solid awareness.

Negatives: Does not consistently play to his forty time, nor does he show great recovery speed. Lacks a sense of timing in pass defense. Slow turning his hips to transition with opponents down the field.

Analysis: Amaya possesses solid size/speed numbers and has the mentality to play at the next level. He has enough skill to get looks as a dime back.

special teams again. i like it. then again i want to see this "it" factor
The Saints hope Amaya can contribute as a punt returner. He signed with Miami as an undrafted rookie free agent last year and played in 10 games, all off the bench.

Sean said in his press conference today that both teams were trading undisclosed picks. Unless I just misunderstood

I just don't get all the suspense about giving out the details of the remainder of the trade with Reggie. This is just stupid.

The New Orleans Saints will acquire Miami Dolphins safety Jonathon Amaya as part of their trade for tailback Reggie Bush, according to ESPN.

Amaya, 22, was a backup safety and special teams standout for the Dolphins last year. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder was an undrafted rookie out of Nevada-Reno. He appeared in 10 games with 15 tackles but was reportedly set to compete for a starting job at free safety this year.

Amaya made his mark on special teams as a rookie. According to Miami Coach Tony Sparano, "Amaya might have been our best special teams player last year."

He earned a reputation as a hard hitter in college, where he infamously leveled former Fresno State and current San Diego Chargers tailback Ryan Mathews, sidelining him for two weeks with a concussion.
