Filed to ESPN: New Orleans pulled off free-agent upset, reaching agreement with former 49ers DT Aubrayo Franklin on a one-year deal.

I don't now to much about this guy.

I read an article that said he was at about 298lbs.

Rodgers isn't going to play every down so we need to get a good solid rotation on the DL.

I think the rotation is a little more than solid. Maybe the best trio of DTs in the league...if everyone is healthy and in shape.

Well I don't know a thing about him. But y'all seem to think he is worth it, so he must be. I'm glad to see we still are pulling them in our D should be damn good this year.

@ProFootbalFocus: A.Franklin was our 2nd best graded DT lst yr vs. run, Rogers top pass-rushing DT over last 3 yrs, Saints now have both.

Our front line will help our production at OLB. They're going to have a lot of room to roam and make plays. Even if we didn't get a "name" linebacker, I'm very comfortable with what we currently have on the roster.

Yeah we look good at DT now. Wow just Wow. I wonder how Loomis is going to pull an OLB out of his hat now?

Have to admit I'm embarrassed, never really heard much about this guy, but the reactions from scouts seems to b overwhelmingly positive. I'll need to read more about him... but if he's that good, I wish we'd locked him up for more than one year.

Great signing. The talent level on the field will not drop off in the rotation as it has in years past. What about Kirk Morrison at LB? The guy hits.

He definitely helped occupying blockers and such... but let's not solely give him all the credit. Patrick Willis is a superstar.

Does he take as much space as the "Big Wiggle"? Hopefully he won't eat as many chicken wings!
