No matter what name goes on the hand puppet, Jerry Jones will always coach the Cowboys.

Screw those guys. I want Cowher. Or Gruden. Hell even Marty Shotenheimer is better (and probably younger) than Vitt. Hell I say go out and rape Bellicheck away from the Pats.

Someone better will be out there, and with the way this program has improved we will pretty much be able to get anyone we want.

He will leave before Payton; but your statement regarding excellent coordinators making horrible head coaches is true:

Exhibit A - Dave Wannstadt

Exhibit B - Norv Turner

Exhibit C - Wade Phillips

Exhibit D - Buddy Ryan

Exhibit E - Marvin Lewis

Exhibit F - Dick LeBeau

Exhibit G - Eric Mangini

Exhibit H - Mike Martz

and the list can go on...

That is the exact reason I got into this thread.

I think that GW hanging around combined with SP saying he doesn't want to coach forever adds up to that being a strong possibility.

But I think that in order for that to happen, SP would have to "retire" (see-> go coach the Cowboys) after this or next
season 'cos GW isn't going to wait forever to get another chance at HC. If they'll be as dominant on the D as most of us believe
they are going to be... then GW's stock is going to be very high and the offers are going to be pouring in. And it's probably not just
a case of getting the chance to call all of the shots, because as I understand it, there's also quite a bump in pay grade
moving from DC to HC. And we are always talking about how some player had to take the offer of another team 'cos he won't get
many more chances for a big contract (see-> Goodwin). So, why couldn't the same be said for coaches and coordinators?

Oh, and the Vitt suggestion was a joke - or a nightmare - depending on the point of view, which will hopefully/likely never happen.

I hope to see GW in black and gold for atleast one more year after this. I don't know who could replace him as a DC and get the same production out of these guys.
Now if SP would retire Gruden or Cowher would be acceptable options with Gruden as my favourite there.

You guys are praising the wrong guy..
It's LOOMIS who should be getting all the praise, without him THIS SAINTS TEAM Would not exist. There would be no Sean Payton to suggest or bring in a Gregg Williams, there probably wouldn't be a Drew Brees, we wouldn't have even thought about having Reggie Bush celebrity dwell our practice field, There would be no 35,000+ Waiting list Season Tickets, There would be no Superbowl, Saints would probably be a top flight to California as a failing franchise in a small market that can't sell out seats in a National monument-like stadium..

Loomis has crafted this entire Gumbo pot of goodness that we can now proudly call our own and pound our chest about, When Arnie Stepped down i had some doubts but Loomis quickly changed my mind..

While people are looking to shake Sean Payton and/or Gregg Williams hand i want to give Loomis a BIG Ol'e HUG and tell him how much i appreciate him as a GM... He puts the "G" in General.
