METAIRIE, La. ― Devery Henderson ran a perfect route and caught an easy pass from Drew Brees late in Saturday’s practice.

A few play later, Robert Meachem leapt high to make a highlight-reel grab in traffic.

And Adrian Arrington? He wasn’t on the field.

Ankle injury.

Not exactly Arrington needs to be doing in this, his last chance to make a full roster after spending the previous two seasons on the practice squad after missing his rookie season on injured reserve.

It’s certainly not what he needs to be doing when several undrafted rookie free agents are on his tail for the fifth receiver position – that is, should Saints coach Sean Payton keep a fifth receiver.

Jarred Fayson and Joe Morgan are having good camps and have every chance at this point to pass Arrington.

Full report here.

*I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: running back Mark Ingram is going to impress a lot of people this year.

*Ditto for receiver Devery Henderson, whom people have questioned because of his consistency.

*I think fans that haven’t been to practice are going to love running back Darren Sproles. A lot.

I say cut him and bring in Fayson (who apparently has some minor injury too).

I'm just tired of hearing about how AA has a lot of talent and upside, but

never is able to bring it to the big show...whatever the reasons may be.

I was really high on this kid because he looked like a diamond in the rough, however if it says that the two other guys are having good camps then this is my view

Arrington has had enough chances, he is good when he played, but that was 1 game out of 32 possible games.

I would say stick with those two other WR's over him, his injury list is frustrating me.

Man i cant wait to see our Running game, Ingram is going to be such a good player, they say he's impressing everybody.

cant wait to see what Darren Sproles can do, little guy with a big chip on his shoulder, runs between the tackles really well for his size and has great speed.

lets start the season already!

Wasn't Meachem the one who was supposed to replace him?

I mean Meachem's 40-yard dash is supposedly 4.40 while AA's is 4.50 according to the scouting reports I've seen.

Not that there's a big difference, but nevertheless Meachem is supposedly faster disregarding all the injuries to AA.

Hoakie, Detiilier and Booby were praising these 2 a lot yesterday, as well as Montez Billings (2nd year WR from Auburn who had a good camp last year). I think all 3 could find their way onto an NFL roster soon.

All 3 offer something Arrington doesn't. Special Teams.
