25 (23) Vikings 6-10 Minnesota actually got younger at quarterback by acquiring 34-year-old Donovan McNabb. (Walker)
26 (25) 49ers 6-10 Widespread changes on defense raise questions about 49ers' short-term prospects. (Sando)
27 (29) Broncos 4-12 I fear the first year of the John Fox regime will be a long, ugly one filled with Tim Tebow-related controversy. (Kuharsky)
28 (27) Browns 5-11 If QB Colt McCoy isn't the answer, it will be another long season in Cleveland. (Walker)
29 (26) Redskins 6-10 In a few more weeks, Mike Shanahan might wish he had kept Donovan McNabb. (Fox)

I don't have anything for these anymore either, but I have to admit with no love from ESPN whatsoever the entire offseason, I am very surprised to see us ranked at number 4.....

And I'm sorry, but what exactly has Phillip Rivers done, or WON, to be put into the "elite qb" status????

Agree with stpaul on Rivers

I'm not bashing on his talent mind you, because he has put up some good numbers since he became a starter, but wasn't it the so-called "experts", that made the comments, that "Brees COULDN'T be considered an elite QB, until he had at least one ring"? Now, how many SB rings does Rivers have again?

I can't argue with those rankings. You have to give the number 1 spot to the reining champions before the season starts. I think we are better than number 4, but until the rest of the league and media sees us on the field and how our offseason moves translate into game play, I can see where we would be ranked there.

PS. I would love to see what the Falcons fans think about this.

Falc'aint fans are like the Viqueen fans; delusional! This gives them a reason to ***** and moan about how it's a conspiracy, blah, blah, & blah!

Politicians, weathermen, sportswriters..... yet another way to make money lying to folk and making **** up.

And on another note, Rivers won't even have Sproles this year.

How so? There's little difference in missing 12 games versus missing 16.

Most of us ae already know the answer to that question.

By all means, continue posting and discussing Power Rankings. Many here enjoy them, but you won't change the minds of those who don't.

Only one thing matters: Scoreboard

Some posters think its like the BCS rankings and that people think that they actually matter. Every knows its not like BCS rankings.

I never understood why people dislike them. They're simply somone's opinion of how good/bad all 32 teams are. I enjoy reading the one-liners, and like to see my Saints get respect in the media.

Power rankings are like rating what you might think a super model would be like in bed.

Like any of you would ever know.

Seriously, they have made some good moves and they are turning into a quality club. My friends laugh at me for this opinion. Just watch them.....they may surprise you.

Having attended Georgia Tech, I saw plenty of Calvin Johnson and Matthew Stafford. They were both men among boys in college. If they can stay healthy, and find a competent running back (Jahvid Best is going to have an abysmal year, mark my words) then the offense can become top-10, and their defense, particularly with this offseason, already is.

I thought there list was pretty good, some minor changes but...its a Pre-season power ranking.
