Super Dome construction
 

How is the construction between the Super Dome and Champions Square going? When I was here a couple of weeks ago it was all barricaded off and there was construction equipment all over the place. Are the LaSalle Street ramps ready for use yet or do I have to use the Poydras Street ramps? Any information will be helpful.

According to Doug Thornton with SMG, Champions Square will not be ready for Friday but believes it will be ready for the second preseason game. If you have an android phone there is an app called Bless You Boys that WWL runs that's pretty good with content. I'm sure it's also available for I-phones but I don't have one so don't know for sure.

Dang! I hate using the Poydras Street ramp because of all that congestion around the Gate A entrance. It's about like trying to walk down Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras. Thanks though.

The Louisiana Superdome - 2011 Enhancements

I consider myself VERY lucky that my section wasn't one that got an upgrade. Some of my friends sitting in plaza and club had their ticket prices DOUBLED!

Well you are all luck such & suches. I still have not had the chance to go to the Dome to see the Saints play - I am hella jelous!

I second that... I only had the chance to see the Saints play live in NC against the Panthers.

I love that the press box is right above our seats, you get to hear a lot of the stuff that's for the media, before games you get inactives and during games you get info before it comes out

At least they are all Saints fans. Well, mostly.;)

I am proj manager on the Champion Square project and it will not be open for friday. It should be complete by Sept 1st

thats crazy. the last thing I need is "amenities". all I need is my team, something that functions as grass, a football, a place to go the bathroom, and my seat.

if they want to "upgrade," I could use some extra butt-room.

After many years of only seeing the Saint's on TV, this will be my 3rd year straight to come down to the Dome for a live game. Its a 500 mile drive for me and its hella expensive, so I can really only do one game a year. But it'll be neat to see the improvements and Champion Square. And I for one love walking up Poydras street and into the massive crowd of Saint's fans on that side. It just pumps me up. The aura is incredible.

Sorry the manufacturer called and said they don't make seats that wide.

I think the extra "butt-room" was part of the upgrade. They put in wider seats with cup holders. I wouldn't mind that but I wouldn't want to pay an extra $120 a game for it. My behind fits my current seat just fine.

Wait, I thought all you TERRACE folks stood up all the time, at least that's what you tell us Plaza folks when we don't stand all the time. What do you need extra butt room for? :phat:
