How many wins for the Saints within the division?

So our division is getting tougher - How many wins will we have this year?

I say 4

alexonfyre 08-10-2011 04:16 PM

If I were being totally honest I would say 4. Split with TB and split with the dodo birds.
But since I don't really feel like giving up a game to the stool pigeons before the season even starts, I voted 5.

strato 08-10-2011 04:18 PM

Championship!

Budsdrinker 08-10-2011 04:29 PM

I say clean sweep. Even the backups will beat Carolina in week 17!
I hate to say it but I really don't see a game on the schedule that we shouldn't win. I'm not saying we will blow every team off of the field but realistically we have a shot of running the table. Atlanta will be the most competitive games but we still win. Green Bay will be sloppy from the hangover. The Manning boys are going down and basically everyone else is in some type of rebuliding transition year.

st thomas 08-10-2011 05:09 PM

carolina will be at the bottom, tampa goes back to there ole ways and atlanta will not be as good. sweep i say.

papz 08-10-2011 05:16 PM

I voted 5 but 4 would be good in a tough division... Carolina should be much now that they're healthy. I wouldn't just write off those games.

Memnoch_TP 08-10-2011 06:14 PM

After letting ATL slip through our fingers (or our toes, as the case may be) last year, and the price we paid for that...

No, I think we are going to crush our division because GW and Payton will be crushing nuts if we don't.

Cool... if that happens, we can use your fancy schmancy Saints boiling pot for a good cook-out!

Agreed. 6-0 in the division, unless we have homefield wrapped up by week 15.

|Mitch| 08-10-2011 07:50 PM

I say 5-1, I think Atl will get lucky one time...

foreverfan 08-10-2011 08:07 PM

Stupid question.

pumpkindriver 08-10-2011 11:45 PM

I'm saying 5, even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

breesfan27 08-11-2011 01:21 AM

SWEEP!!!!!!

All of our division rivals will cower in fear!

crawgator 08-11-2011 01:31 AM

To be realistic we will lose 1 game in the division..Carolina sweep, TB was last year a fluke for them .. But we should beat them 2 times.. The Dirty Birds.. We are so evenly matched... The Key to the Atlanta games...Stop the Run, If we can stop Atlanta's run game we have a good shot at winning 2 from them... We beefed up our D-line so we may be in great shape...

Memnoch_TP 08-11-2011 02:24 AM

No, I see us having to sweep all 6 divisions games, and all the rest of our games, to finish 16-0 and keep ahead of the 15-1 Eagles for #1 Seed.

Then we will end up playing the Eagles in the NFC Championship game, at home in the Dome, where we will drive Andy "The Bride's Maid" Reid to retirement or suicide after missing the big dance by one game, AGAIN.

Then we play a rematch against the Colts in their house, and drive Peyton to retirement or suicide because when he signed his contract with the Devil, he phrased it as "Play in the Super Bowl at home" and not "Win the Super Bowl at home", the silly git. Peyton, they don't say "The Devil is in the details" for nothing.

TWO DAT!

xan 08-11-2011 07:22 AM

We'll slip up once. I don't think Tampon improved that much and the Panties will be a tough win, but they're just not very good. I expect the clowns to beat us at home. For some reason, we just play better when not confronted by fatty food and alcohol.

Mardigras9 08-11-2011 09:56 AM

5 - 1 HOPEFULLY, 4 -2 PROBABLY

SaintsBro 08-11-2011 10:47 AM

I voted 4, but for me that includes one loss of our backups playing against Carolina in week 17.

The thing to me that is kinda cool about our division this year is that, the Saints can play loose and fun with Green Bay in the opener. Drew and Williams and Payton can cook up some crafty strategy and really ball and have fun with it. And if we lose, hey -- it's not THAT big a deal...it's just one game. But IF we lose, then even in week 2, the Green Bay game in October becomes circled on the Falcons' calendar as an absolute MUST WIN for the Falcons, if they want to get a game UP on us, because our schedules are so similar...and remember what happened last time the Packers came to the Georgia Dome hehehe...so the Failcons will be TIGHT and NERVOUS and freaked out in October -- Matt Ryan will be staining his white pants in that game -- whereas when WE play the Pack, it's gonna be more like a freewheeling, fireworks, nothing to lose, old champs vs new champs, let 'er rip type of game. And if we beat the Pack, and the Falcons LOSE to them, then the Falcons will pretty much be limping and trailing behind us by a game or more ALL YEAR LONG. Which could play out really nicely.

All 6
No way would Payton pull starters with perfect season on the line

I went with 4. We're capable of a sweep without question, but all homerism aside sweeping Atlanta and Tampa is much easier to say than it is to do.

Frankly 4 of 6 in our division, IMO, is pretty damn spiffy. :bng:

SapperSaint 08-11-2011 02:17 PM

The Fan in me says, we sweep.

The realist in me says, we win 4.

Tampa, I feel isn't going to be easy. I'm calling it now....Tampa sweeps Atlanta. Remember, you say it here FIRST!

My money says Tampa and New Orleans will be in the 1&2 spots. (No particular order)

Memnoch_TP 08-11-2011 05:27 PM

The year we beat the Colts in the Super Bowl, I made my Super Bowl prediction before the first game. I predicted the Saints over the Colts in the Super Bowl. Everyone told me to be realistic.

Look at the world around you. It's stupid out there. If reality isn't realistic, why should I be? 16-0, TWO DAT, period.

Srgt. Hulka 08-11-2011 05:39 PM

How many choices are there?...I see only one. 6-0 in the division. There are no other choices. Anything less is unacceptable, especially this year.

homerj07 08-11-2011 07:46 PM

Glad to see such a nice debate & good discussion.

Sorry a couple of people don't like the question!

I think the question is fine...It's some of the answers I don't like!

What are you, some kind of communist kindergarten teacher? Why does every have to like it and why do you care if anyone doesn't?
