Everyone seems to forget how close Green Bay was to not making the playoffs last year. I mean, the only time they were really dominant was in the game at Atlanta (hehehehe), even the Eagles looked like the better team when they played in the Championship. They did play a good game in the Super Bowl though, they deserved to win it and they are the Champs, but the ONLY thing they have going for them to repeat is consistency in the roster.

And the fact that they had more starters than we did on IR from early on in the season. All of which are coming back. Its going to be very tough to beat them that first game. At Lambeau with the banner unveiling and all. Even if they are not the better team at the time their homefeild advantage will be massive.

Agree with The Dude. I will be surprised if we start 1-0

This is going to be one of the best games of the entire season. I think we will see Super Bowl caliber play from both teams. I can see the Saints playing an incredible game and losing, given the circumstances, so long as we don't drop a stinker like the Indianapolis game a couple years ago, I'll be happy.

I would not go so far as to say I will be surprised If we go 1-0, but I will say I wouldn't be surprised if we went 0-1. If that makes any sense. If we do go 1-0 it will say ALOT about our team, and could really help us out come playoff time in regards to HFO.

Why do so many people post that it will be difficult for the Saints to beat the Packers?

Because they are the current Champs, and they deserve respect. Not to mention, in their entire history as a team, they have ALWAYS had a really strong home-field advantage...with the banner coming down at the home/season opener? If it were any team other than the Saints, Pats, Eagles or Steelers I would say they were about to get killed!

With those teams I wouldn't be surprised with either outcome.
