Stinchcomb is a smart guy, he'll figure it out.
He may not even want to go play elsewhere.
Either way, we wish him all the best.
Thanks for everything you've done for this organization and this city.
Hope you have gotten some love in return.

True - BUT most of us have not had mutli year millions of dollars contracts. PLUS - the job market ofr an O-lineman isn't like it is for the rest of us poor schmoes!

Yes he is a class act BUT He will have another job, if he wants it.

I suspect he hasn't recovered from last season's injury; and that is affecting his game...

Maverick2299 08-16-2011 08:39 AM

Or he is afraid to get hurt like that again.

Class act. He played some good ball for us over the years and helped us win a Super Bowl. Best of luck to Jon.

Literally laughed out loud!

I too think that he hasn't quite recovered from what seemingly was much worse of an injury than was described last year. That coupled with the fact that you have two young linemen in Strief and Brown fighting for the same spot.

As some have already mentioned, I think these factors along with Mickey and Sean's respect for Stinch caused them to make this love right now. Payton even said it in his presser yesterday...something to the effect of moving this team in the direction of youth at this position...better for both parties to do it now, as opposed to drawing it out.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Stinch retire now. I think even he realizes that this is it for him, and he's seen his better days. He's a realist, and a good guy, and I wish him all the best.

Now come on C Brown and Strief...time to take it up a notch!!

Meant "move", not "love". typing too quickly. Apologies.....

He can afford to retire I am sure. If he wants to sign on elsewhere and work his way into the lineup then good for him. If he still wants to play then more power to him.
