We’re told the Saints will spend all offseason working with S Tebucky Jones to try to get him to improve his tackling technique.

We hear there are mixed feelings in the Saints’ organization about veteran C Jerry Fontenot. The front office would prefer to go bigger, faster and younger, but head coach Jim Haslett and his staff would like to see Fontenot re-signed for another year or two.

Although some team observers have questioned the wisdom of the Saints changing playing surfaces in Superdome in midseason, Saints PK John Carney believes the move was the best for all the players on the team even though he has struggled on the AstroPlay surface.

Saints head coach Jim Haslett didn’t exactly endear himself to fans in New Orleans when he complained about the officials in a Week 16 loss to the Jaguars because we’re told the complaints came across as whining.

It looks like Saints WR Joe Horn doesn’t really know when to quit. We hear he was told by the team to stop talking about his cell-phone shenanigans midway through last week, only to show up on a national sports-talk show, infuriating team management.

The way we hear it, the Saints hope the success of Pro Bowl OG LeCharles Bentley will inspire rookie Montrae Holland to work harder in the offseason to reach the same level as Bentley.
