People will do anything if the price is right. So, I have to concede it is entirely possible that Haz could go north. However, after reading the entire article I got the impression that the Bills are lookin\' for an Offensive-Minded HC, and from all accounts I\'ve read Haz is a Defensive-Minded coach.

In my opinion I\'d say Haz going to the Bills is possible...but I wouldn\'t say it\'s very likely.

I don\'t think Haz is going anywhere. I really don\'t even know why the Bills would want Haz. Other than the fact he played for the Bills and his wife is from the area. Maybe someone can give me some reason as to why Buffalo would want Haz?

Anyway, I think Haslett is going to be our coach next year, and hopefully he has learned from his mistakes. That does happen ya know. Even the great Parcells almost got fired in his first 3-years. So did Chuck Knox.

Like I\'ve said many times, I would have like to have seen a new coaching staff brought in because I don\'t think it would have been a big risk. I also think Haslett CAN get the job done. Now, will he? I don\'t know.

Buffalo\'s thought process...
1. If he can make that loser franchise competitive, he\'s got some coaching talent.
2. If he can be competitve with those loser players, imagine what he could do with a real GM picking his players.
3. He\'s practically worshipped here. Ticket $ALES$
4. Take away a few bad calls and the massive injuries and he\'s 12-4.
5. Venturi and McCarthy won\'t come with him.

I agree with Billy in that I don\'t think Haslett is going anywhere. However, you\'re flat wrong about Parcells.

I\'m not wrong. Parcells almost got fired in his first season. They were talking about that very fact on ESPN radio a couple of days ago.


You\'re right though. There is no comparison between Parcells and Haslett.

Let me ask you this though WhoDat. Do you think Haslett can and will improve?I think he can, but I don\'t know if he will. I think anyone that is worth a grain of salt MUST evalutate themselves and make improvements in any aspect of their life, and this includes coaching.

Can\'t argue that. Look - past performance cannot predict future performance... BUT, analyzing trends and identifying causes in past performances can help make some educated predictions about the future. I think the Saints will go to the playoffs next season, but I doubt Haslett will have anything to do with it. I have a hard time believing that they\'ll ever go to the big dance with Haz. Most great coaches historically do it in their first three seasons. By do it, I mean break out. Maybe not go to the SB, but they prove the can. That is even more true in the current era of free agency. You see guys with records like 4-12, 9-7, 13-3... What you don\'t see a lot of from coaches in the SB is 10-6, 7-9, 9-7, 8-8... with records like that, why do you guys expect 13-3 to follow? Is it possible? Sure. But on a probability scale I\'d say it\'s probably pretty unlikely.

I know in recent NFL history that coaches have had success much quicker and the one\'s that don\'t, usually get fired. However, I don\'t think this means a coach cannot and will not improve. Now, I\'m not saying Haslett will learn from his mistakes. I believe foolish pride sometimes prevents a person from learning from their mistakes. This might be the case for Haslett.

Since Haslett is going to be our coach, my hope is that he is intelligent enough to learn from mistakes and improve. It\'s enitely possible that we may be wrong about Haslett, or at least, he may prove us wrong.
