Yeah man, he answered my question about not getting any chances to play in preseason, but didn't answer back when I asked if they talked to him at all about his release. Tells me that they never told him they wanted to resign him to the PS if he cleared waivers.

Saints released DE Alex Brown.

The move comes as a surprise in that Brown started all three preseason games after working with the first team throughout training camp. The nine-year veteran was due $3 million after starting all 16 games at left end last season. The Saints have added first-rounder Cam Jordan and veteran Turk McBride since then. Brown took the news well, tweeting that the Saints are a "class organization.
