Cornerbacks to watch in the draft

LAWRENCE RICHARDSON Cornerback
Senior | Arkansas
HT:5'11
WT:190
FORTY:4.33 (unofficial)

AHMAD CARROLL Cornerback
Junior | Arkansas
HT:6'0
WT:190
FORTY:4.40 (unofficial)

BIO:
ANALYSIS: Nice sized corner. Excellent recovery speed. Solidly built, strong and can really hit. Outstanding in run support and can play comfortably at the line. Still is a little slow in reading and turning but possesses all the physical skills to be a top flight cover corner.
OVERALL: 2nd Rounder right now but has early 1st Round skills.

DUNTA ROBINSON Cornerback
Senior | South Carolina
HT:6'0
WT:185
FORTY:4.37 (unofficial)

DEANGELO HALL Cornerback
Junior | Virginia Tech
HT:5'11
WT:197
FORTY:4.25 (unofficial)

BIO: One of the nation's most electrifying return men, Hall is spending time at WR this season as well as maintaining his duties on Special teams and at corner. He returned 2 punts for TDs as a Junior and reportedly timed a 4.15 at Va Tech's Spring timing day.
ANALYSIS: Excellent athlete and big play guy still needing techinical work and consistency as a corner. Has the ability to be a 1st Round pick. Strong in run support and plays the game with an attitude. Sometimes can be too agressive and trusts his recovery speed too much. Top flight return man.
OVERALL: If he came out early, probably a 2nd Rounder, maybe a top 20 player in '05.

CHRIS GAMBLE Cornerback
Junior | Ohio State
HT:6'2
WT:175
FORTY:4.44 (unofficial)

HIGH SCHOOL: Dillard (Ft.Lauderdale, FL)
BIO: Came to the Bucks from Florida. Originally was a WR and was expected to be the next great OSU WR, but needs in the secondary arose and part way into his sophomore year, Gamble moved to CB. He continued to still play WR and had a huge year, coming up with 4 INTs and numerous big plays. He still had 31 rec for 499 yards.
ANALYSIS: Very athletic player. Lanky build, very fluid. Has great leaping ability and ball skills, likes to take risks and just makes plays. Has gotten by on athletic ability, but technique needs work. Not strong, not too physical as a corner and is not a strong tackler.
OVERALL: Great athlete, but in my mind, a little overrated because of his potential. Still, Gamble has the talent to be a top NFL cover man, but he needs some time. Mid-Late 1st Round.

DERRICK STRAIT Cornerback
Senior | Oklahoma
HT:6'0
WT:200
FORTY:4.48 (unofficial)
BIO: Redshirted his freshman year but in his redshirt-freshman year he was a key starter in the Sooners' national championship run. Junior year was one of his best years statistically, leading the team in pass breakups and snagging six interceptions.
ANALYSIS: Has great natural cover skills. Well built, well sized and uses it with his physical play. Likes to play up on the line and has the strength and attitude to match up against bigger receivers. Is not a burner but has decent speed and quickness. Showed as a senior he can make plays as well as any CB in the draft and made some beautiful INTs and breakups. Solid and willing in run support. Was torched earlier in his career by big time Big 12 WRs Roy Williams and Rashaun Woods but responded as a senior limiting both of them in two big wins for the Sooners.
OVERALL: One of the best cover men in the draft, and had his best and most consistent year as a senior. He's the most solid and dependable CB in the draft but his lack of pure speed could hurt him. He's top 15-20 though.
