I was thinking at the time, that the intent all along was to punch it in first with Ingram, and then I was feeling they would go to Jimmy Graham for the 2 point conversion. That goal line play they've done before, where Jimmy just kinda walks three steps into the end zone, turns around and catches it. I felt like that play was definitely in the mix.
But because of the situation, you really needed to run TWO different back-to-back scoring plays in that exact same spot.... Doubtful that you could run the same exact play twice and it would work, so no matter how you slice it, one play pretty much needed to be a big-push run up the gut, and the other needed to be something else....it's better to risk punching it in first, because THEN you have all the creative options on the table for the 2 point conversion, you have the corners of the end zone, tight ends, Drew roll outs, and still possibly a run. You score on a fancy play first, it kind of takes away the fancy plays for when you need to go for 2.
I don't really second guess this play call one bit, not in the least.
