Thomas Morstead

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; He basically controlled the Bears' field position all day long. 4 touchbacks, and only one returnable punt for minimal yards by Hester. I think he's probably the most underrated player on the team....

The long punt from our endzone was huge. Very important to get it that far and out of bounds.

Was that the one that sailed over Hester's head? What a punt!? I think he mis-judged that kick by twenty yards! It was huge!!

Morstead was great all day, keeping Hester at bay, and working the field position. Kasey also was impressive, shut alot of people up after the 50+ yarder with his age.

Stellar performance. If you could give a gameball to a punter, then he'd deserve it yesterday.

Ditto! Bears didn't give us much either on returns either. They know better than to kick it long to Sproles. They'll get a who dat chant shortly after in our end zone if they do LOL.

Hester negligible...Morstead was the heat yesterday. 45.8 yard average, ZERO touchbacks, and one punt downed inside the 20. Nicely angled with good hang-time on the punts (well hung punts? can I say that?). Oh yeah, and Hester had 1 punt return for -4. Special teams (FINALLY!) was a winner winner chicken dinner yesterday. McMahon still needs to tweak the kick-off coverage, but he may keep his coordinator job for at least one more week under close supervision and parental guidance.
