Injuries

We had some yesterday...we need to get some O-linemen in for a workouts..who is out there?...I thought Brown held his own and de la Puenta played well at center...Striefs injury looked the worse...i hope Kreutz can come back soon..

Doesn't sound good.

son of a hooker!

The postive thing is that we still managed to crank out a W against a really good team using two backup OL and 2 backup LBs.

saintfan 09-26-2011 03:56 PM

Right, but we have Tennant now and that's it.

we simply call back a few cuts and tell them to grab their n--ts. its the nfl boys n girls. part of it. holler don't squeal lol.

saints1234 09-26-2011 05:10 PM

if Striefs hurt bad lets go get John Stinchcomb out of retirement he knows the system and could come in and start right away

I'd be worried risking our greatest asset to a few guys we cut...although I confess I don't have a better idea. Damnit it all anyway. :brood:

Zach Streif's injury sure looked serious... he wasnt carted, but that
doesnt really mean nothin. Hate to lose him. Hoping for the best.

I think he was carted off once they got him off the field - read that somewhere today. For sure it doesn't look good for him/us.

I think this explains some of the ofensive & defensive problems we had yesterday.

Knowing this it makes the comeback & victory more sprectacular

Saintsfan4ever 09-26-2011 09:58 PM

hmm, it does make you wonder if perhaps Stinch got a phone call tonite....

I had no idea we went 3 quarters with just 3 LB's available. That's kind of scary to think about, but in hindsight ya got to give props to Casillas, Shanle, and Dunbar...

The Saints defense is ALOT better and more productive coming forward and attacking. The 3 man d-line stuff is completely useless. Without the pressure, the Saints have no shot at turnovers due to the lack of playmakers on defense.

Dunbar played lights out AGAIN! He had Vilma type numbers, better than Vilma type numbers: 6 tackles and 4 assists, that's 10 plays. Dunbar jacked it up last week with Vilma hobbling. Just seems like play makers should play. When Vilma does come back, somebody needs to sit so Dunbar can be on the field.
Our offensive complexity makes it more difficult to grab someone who has never even seen our play book. The fresh cuts might be the best option; who knows? Personaly, I like the best available player. Center, guard, tackle...it's still just football...and just blocking...A-B gaps... inside-out responsibilities, pick your guy and block, knock him on his ash. Just get the best guy available and sit up with him all night if you have to, to get him up to speed on the play book.
It seems every year parts break and have to be replaced. This year is no different. We just have to make sure that the engine keeps running.
