Holy crap. I almost cried just from reading that little bit. Bad things happen to good people :( Kudos to everyone for giving him just one more little special thing to remember.

The writer used the word 'tilt' in describing that game. I thought that was extremely fitting. It was the Texans left with dead flippers, standing mouth wide-open, looking at the scoreboard! LOL

Congrat's to Steve Gleason.

That restaurant gathering got me thinking...

When I was a kid, my Mom worked at Ruth's Chris at 711 Broad. It was a favorite of professional athletes from around the country. All sports. She used to call me a cab and I'd show up to collect autographs. Right at the dinner table!

I particularly remember giving Garo Yapremian crap for that muffed pass on a blocked field goal. I think he wrote "F... off, kid - Garo Yapremian"

LOL

Here's to a long, rich life for Gleason.

Beautiful stuff. There are things more important than football. This shows what a GREAT organization this is. He should be an honorary for SB46.

Really? I used to work there in the 80's... Archie and Olivia Manning came around often ... Garo Yapremian dates you back to 1979 ... that's before me ... I think the Broad St location is closed now.

Awesome

Smashmouth - I think it was between '71 and '73. The Broad Street location is the Original Ruth's Chris's. Now they are EVERYWHERE. And very consistent.

No better steak anywhere, but PRICEY!!!

Ruth Fertel is long gone, however. Bless her.
