I like "Grambo"

papz 09-30-2011 08:58 AM

Tight ends don't have nick names!

Call Jimmy Graham... Jimmy Graham.

SapperSaint 09-30-2011 09:08 AM

I wonder what the team is calling him since it isn't suitable for PFT to mention???? Whatever they call him has to be great.

My suggestions are.......

Big Baby
Dozer
Wait and see what the team is calling him. One of our "insiders" needs to find out. If he continues to be a hoss... he needs a great name like "Moose" had. So when JG makes a great play he gets his version of "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSE!"; just deafining in the dome.

Bam Bam Jimmy Graham.
Cross the middle - Bam!
Back of the endzone - Bam!

I'm still waiting on him to dunk and then hang on the cross bar.

Danno 09-30-2011 01:37 PM

I'm curious, what nicknames do Tony Gonzalez, Dallas Clark, Antonio Gates, Jermichael Finley, Jason Witten, Vernon Davis, Greg Olson and Kellen Winslow have?

Is there an NFL TE that has a nickname?

strato 09-30-2011 01:39 PM

Gonzo?

Not really a nickname since just about everyone named Gonzalez is frequently called Gonzo.

strato 09-30-2011 01:44 PM

but were the Saints fans we do these things..

papz 09-30-2011 01:45 PM

I only TE I can remember with a nickname is Shannon Sharpe... which was horse face. Though, no one would dare call him that to his face.

If you think about it, players that came from the U never really had nicknames. I can't think of any prominent names out of the program in the NFL with a legitimate nickname. They typically go by their first and last time.

FireVenturi 09-30-2011 01:56 PM

Jimmy Slam Graham

Basketball reference

Horse face? LMMFAO!!!

I thought Irvin had one, but since I can't remember it it probably wasn't a good one.

The only thing gheyer than nicknames is fan smack.

Good one Strat :D, but I was referring to NFL players, which I am not. "T-sizzle" may be the gheyest thing I've ever heard in my life, and "Ocho-Cinco" is right behind it. "Flash-80" was pretty bad, but that's San Fran for you.;)

Its repetitive drivel and besides, everyone already knows it so why continue to state the obvious.

IS there or was there......

Jeremy Shockey – Shock Man
Leonard Pope – Champ
David Casper – Ghost

Mark Bavaro – Rambo – as a rookie
Keith Miller – Big Money prior to his NFL career

Rambo and Ghost are the only ones I remember. And Bavaro looked just like Rambo.

Shockey was actually called shock man? Never heard that before.
