Can you tell me why, why, why do we still have Shanle?

I'd like to still have him as a depth player. I am tired of seeing him on the field though.

The funny part is, theres right now no one on in our LB core or on free agency that can fill the Scott Shanle position. Fujita wasn't that much better. I've slowly come to realize that we will be inept at LB behind Vilma until after Brees gets paid.

We addressed most of our weaknesses during this fast paced signing fury call free agency. I guess the staff thought someone would step up. I'm all for kidnapping someones LB'er. Let the Saintsations be the hostage negotiator.

The old joke/question about a prospective player used to be "Can he play safety?" I think we've addressed that issue pretty adequately with Jenkins.

So the new question should now be:
"Can he play weakside linebacker"

Shanle has been frustrating in the games this season, but the penalties are going to come because he's too slow to cover any receiver within the rules.

Still, I guess he's the best the Saints have at the moment for will, so he'll play for now... but I'm confident that Wilson will be the man at that position going forward.
