Scam Newton Cusses out Olsen

Cam cusses out Olsen. Rivera takes responsibility. - Carolina Panthers Message Board

Crusader 10-03-2011 02:34 AM

Sounds like a "great" way to build team chmeistry...

Saintswrath 10-03-2011 07:23 AM

Since it's a Carolina/Saints game coming up.. This is being moved to the Saints Main Board for us to feast over. ahem i mean discuss like civilized adults lol.

ScottF 10-03-2011 11:36 AM

First off, no one knows if it really happened.
Second, if Newton really is this competitive, he will do whatever it takes to win, including throwing to an open TE whom he supposedly cussed out.

Third, and most importantly, we usually don't do well against athletic quarterbacks, so I hope GW dials up a decent blitz/spy plan for this week

jnormand 10-03-2011 11:44 AM

Actually I think this proves Cam is a POS in my opinion. Ofcourse I didn't really think highly of him in the first place. It doesn't show he's a winner or a competitor. It shows he's a baby and a poor sport.

halloween 65 10-03-2011 12:11 PM

Sound's like the "dirty birds"old qb. to me, we all know how that turned out. I don't like this dude, if this was Brees talking to someone like that the media would eat it up. Newton is a problem child.

iceshack149 10-03-2011 01:47 PM

So his shtick after he scores; what's he doing? I'm guessing that he's mimicking Clark Kent opening up his shirt to reveal the "s".

lumm0x 10-03-2011 07:06 PM

You can have a winning attitude and be a fierce competitor without looking like a clown in the media and acting like a douche bag. Obviously this prima donna hasn't discovered that yet. Any Panther fan defending this move is being blind homer hopeful it does not steam roll into issues with this guy.

homerj07 10-03-2011 07:38 PM

I think the key term in what halloween said was "child".

Petulant players don't build good team chemistry & often burn out after the league figures out how to beat them.

Take Vince Young!! (please take him- out of the leaue, he never belonged in the pros anyway)

AlaskaSaints 10-03-2011 08:12 PM

I would have been cut for b**** slapping my quarterback. Seriously.

Have never done well with holier-than-thou attitude.

Bet he wouldn't say that to Shockey.

The real enemy in this story would be the snitch ... Cam's interaction with Olsen should've stayed in the locker room.

Greg Olsen to Cam Newton after the loss to the Bears; Good Game"...Newton's response; "Fu#k You!"

“You’re not supposed to be smiling and giggling after you lose,” Newton said Sunday after completing 27 of 46 passes for 374 yards in a 34-29 loss to the Bears, dropping the Panthers to 1-3.

“I’ve never had the mentality of losing in my whole life. For a person to tell me you can’t win them all, that’s a loser’s mentality. I play the game and I want to win every single game I play. Obviously it hurts when I lose.”

I'm OK with that. If a pro football player can't take an F-U without getting his feelings all hurt they should take his helmet and give him some Pom-Poms...

Choupique 10-04-2011 05:02 AM

The dance that Cam does when he scores is called the Douchenozzle Shuffle.

Cruize 10-04-2011 07:07 AM

Cam was more wrong than Olsen, but I don't have a big problem with either. Cam showing fire about the game is good. He will learn more tact as he matures. Olsen was only trying to console a teammate after a tough loss. Both players have benefited greatly from each other's play and abilities. I'm sure it's all good now.

Yep, and the beautiful thing about people that have this kind of mental disorder. They seem very good because their world is simplistic , so they can focus extremely well, much like a Savant.
But also, like a savant, they lose focus quickly after their simplistic world falls apart, and don't have the mental ability to keep it together.

This is why Cam reminds me of Vick, both had great abilities, but not the mental capacity to lead, learn, or overcome adversity that is required in the NFL. We see Vick starting to crack in philly , right now because of losing.

I see Cam as nothing more than a Vick clone, and having the same kind of career.

Exactly. And all this "he wouldn't have said that to this person, or that person..." is a crock! In any given situation you can lose your patience with someone in a snap, and it doesn't matter who that person is. I'm sure any of the guys that we presume "tough guys" of the NFL have had someone at some point of their careers rip into them also. It's a part of life. It's not like they are being challenged by a 5.9" 150lbs guy at the local bar. These are co-workers...guys that are just as fit and strong as they are. And the majority of these guys have the same attitudes. So, one of them ripping into another one is just like you ripping into a presumed "tough guy" at your office, job, location, ship, yard, etc. It all equals out. If the S.O.B deserves it then let him have it.

saintfan 10-04-2011 12:08 PM

You know what? If I played in the NFL people would hate me. I'd be cussing at people at every turn. An "F" bomb? Hell that would be a minor offense. People need to get over themselves. I agree that the real issue is the guy that snitched. :censored: that mother :censored:!
