Shockey is pissed the Saints released him

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I liked Shockey in a Saints uniform, I like him now. Graham is a much younger, much healthier and just as tenacious version of Shockey, without all the drama. Remember Vegas or was it Tahoe when the dehydration thing sent him ...

I always enjoyed his intensity. I wish we would have kept him around. He was fun to watch.

I have to admit...clowns are fun to watch! I don't want them on my football team, though.

I'm j/k, j...but I have to admit that I have never been a Shockey fan.

I will go one step further and admit to the world that my dislike for him started when he started "showing-up" Eli with his on-field antics. Yes, I am an Eli homer, but I am not embarrassed by it. I feel that his father is one of the classiest guys that ever played the game and I can't help but pull for his sons. It is almost like I am finding out what it might have been like if Archie had gone to another franchise like people talk about all the time.

Back to Shockey, though. It all came to a head one day when a defender intercepted a pass intended for him, he thought he was interfered with, and instead of tackling the defender with the ball, he stood around with his arms flying around in front of a ref lobbying for a call. That was it, for me. (He was a Giant at the time, btw.)

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

i dont really care. he was good 4 years ago and decent when we won the superbowl. he was the 3rd best te on our team, overpaid, and was hurt constantly. he was dead weight.

Shockey is going to get his "big catch" on Sunday, the one where he showboats and jumps around and jaws and does his little vindication dance against the Saints....you know it will happen at least once on Sunday so I'm not going to get upset when it does...I just hope it is just some 3rd down short of the marker, or a TD in garbage time, and it's not a real game changer. I'm not going to freak out when he does it...

During the Giants game in '09, during a time out, Shockey was in the huddle on the sidelines with the Saints defense, telling them what to look for and what the Giants were probably gonna do on the next play....I hope he doesn't pull a Fujita and give away the farm. Hopefully he's forgotten most of the Saints playbook in a haze of booze, Vegas strippers and concussions since then.

Love him or hate him - that's what makes him a great competitor. He's not gonna give an inch to anyone.

That man could not run a football. He could catch one, but touch him with a feather and it would tip him over. That said, he was valuable to an extent, and there ought to be a way a player can close out a career with the team he rode to the Superbowl. BUT you gotta be productive!!!

I'll Always Have Respect For J.Shock But Hey You're Still Getting Paid And At Least Unlike The Giants The Saints Actually Accepted You As Part Of The Team And Invited You To The Super Bowl Parade.....
