Be prepared to be pissed off to the heights of pisstivity!!

25 Most Overrated New Orleans Saints in Franchise History | Bleacher Report

Jack Vegas 10-13-2011 04:44 PM

Wow, regardless of what you think of his opinions, this is just awful writing. As a former professional journalist of 10-plus years, I have to say Bleacher Report is amateurish and embarrassing.

I agree. I still don't know why I go to that site.

strato 10-13-2011 04:52 PM

Thats just crazy..he has some of our best players on that list...pure garbage..

FinSaint 10-13-2011 05:02 PM

Pisstivity

Awesome word and versatile as hell! :jester:

Definitions by Urban dictionary:

Quote:

1. Degrees of being pissed off one can encounter!

2. The universal measurement of how pissed off a person is

3.1. elated to anger; occurs when you are beyond mad but between physically hurting another's emotions

3.2 premad followed by violence

4. Being extremely pissed off at someone or over something. Usually a level off pissed off you've never reached or have only reached a few times before.

5. Beyond pissed off....

6. A redneck word, used in describing great anger in the present tense. Being very angry, or infuriated with someone.

7. To be extremely mad, or upset to the maximum. Usually when using this word your going to be pissed off for a very long time. This word can also be used to describe a mood or feeling in an agressive way.

Euphoria 10-13-2011 05:16 PM

I don't think this is anything to be pissed at this is no more than a power ranking situation.

The guy who wrote this knows NOTHING of the Saints. To do an article like this you have to go way back to day one. The guy never stepped outside of the Mora days. Give me a break he's a tard.

He has no credibility with this mess.

SaintsBro 10-13-2011 05:30 PM

"I admit, I didn't see Joe Horn in a Saints uniform long enough to secure a true opinion of the receiver."

"I admit, I don't know a lot about George Rogers. He was a member of the Saints before I was even born"

foreverfan 10-13-2011 05:38 PM

Can we all agree on Brooks? LOL Reggie Bush should be much higher. How is Joe Horn on the list? This guy doesn't know his Saints history.

It hard to watch football with this view.

jeanpierre 10-13-2011 05:39 PM

Okay...

No way Kyle Turley, Lorenzo Neal, Mike McKenzie, nor Darren Sharper should ever be accused of being overrated...

I can think of a few who should be listed in this article...

Euphoria 10-13-2011 05:49 PM

No can't even agree with Brooks being #1

He was actually signed to be our back up. He comes in and plays exceptional and wins the starting job and ends up winning us our first play off game.

There was no expectation for him except to warm the bench. How can that be over-rated???

Now Ricky Williams, he didn't do crap for us so he is up on the list. Heath Shuler???

You can call the list "The list of players I disliked the most from this retard writer". That would give it more credibility.

skymike 10-13-2011 05:51 PM

overrated player lists are ghey.

Euphoria 10-13-2011 05:53 PM

LOL, why you type Ghey... its GAY, lol.

neugey 10-13-2011 06:16 PM

Bleacher Report might have the worst opinions on sports of all time. I go there to get a laugh once in a while or look at women with big boobies.

foreverfan 10-13-2011 06:18 PM

Jonathan Sullivan?

|Mitch| 10-13-2011 06:18 PM

Bleacher Report; enough said right there... I didn't even read the article after I saw that's where it came from

Belair57 10-13-2011 06:32 PM

wow, just the fact that anyone actually did a top 25 overrated list , without even knowing our complete history is Fn rediculous!! Ugggh

Saintsfan4ever 10-13-2011 07:27 PM

Now that I wasted 20 minutes of my life reading that fundamentally inaccurate garbage, I'll spend 5 more commenting on it.

1st of all, as Euph pointed out, to be deemed as over-rated there would first have to be an expectation of performance that never came to fruition. 85% of the players on this list had no preconceived expectation of greatness. This list would be more appropriately labeled "top 25 Saints that SUCKED their last year as a Saint".
This fool needs to go back and look and the history of top drafted Saints players that never did Jack, there's you're list moron.

And I could comment on each individual entry, but Hokie get's trashed because he only played 4 years? really?? He only played 4 years because he blew out his knee you chuckleF***!

ok I feel better.

73Saint 10-13-2011 08:52 PM

That was quite possibly the most terrible article I've ever read.

homerj07 10-13-2011 09:03 PM

I am sure Ironhead played for us for more than one year... Right??

Srgt. Hulka 10-13-2011 09:47 PM

I think it simple, the guy just has a burr up his ass against the Saints. Probably because we beat his favorite team in Superbowl XLIV.

arsaint 10-13-2011 10:32 PM

Seriously, Joe Horn??? Michael Lewis??? Is this person on crack?

Where are these "gems" who are more worthy of being on this list?

HEATH SHULER
Russell Erxleben
Jonathan Sullivan
Steve Walsh
Chris Naeole
All the Billy Joe QBs
Troy Davis
Danny Wuerfell
Cam Cleeland
Daryl Terrell
Tebucky Jones
Michael Hawthorne
Jason David
Mario Bates
Courtney Watson
Dale Carter
Randal Hill
Olindo Mare
Kerry Collins

The Dude 10-13-2011 10:48 PM

That site is garbage and any one of us can write for them. Hell most of those players were never billed as "great" or even "good" players by fans or the media. To be over rated you have to have someone calling you awesome. I remember a ton of fans saying Fujita needed to be replaced. There are a bunch more like that. John Carney? Hes a kicker for crying out loud. Mike Bell? Yea he was a surprise substitute when injuries hit us but I dont remember anyone comparing him to Barry Sanders. Its not our fault Tampa grossly over paid for Faine.

SapperSaint 10-13-2011 10:48 PM

this guy admitted he is a "new" fan of the Saints. He knows nothing about this team or it's history of players.

wasted brain cells just reading it.

Yes, you are correct. Craig Heyward was drafted in the 1st round by the Saints in 1988 and played five seasons through 1992. After the conclusion of the 1992 season, Heyward signed with the Chicago Bears as an unrestricted free agent.

jnormand 10-14-2011 01:48 AM

Ick. Anyone have some pepto?

Saint_LB 10-14-2011 03:58 AM

Why do they have Archie's picture for John Gilliam?

That was when i closed the link...lol

vpheughan 10-14-2011 08:54 AM

Worst part is these so called "writers" get paid to do nothing more than "stir the pot". It's an easy gig. "Ok today I'll write something that will get all the fans up in arms." Ignore the obvious flops and go after some "big names." What's going to get more reaction? A pat on the back or a finger in the eye? He is a eunuch at an orgy. Can't participate so tell everyone else what they are doing wrong! Poor Eunuch!! Hey there's your next article "25 Top Eunuch Writers"

Budsdrinker 10-14-2011 09:38 AM

He's a young punk kid that wouldn't know a football player when he saw one. No clue about how the games were played in different eras or considering the lack of other talent around when certain players were playing which limited their ability. Pure trash writing.

Euphoria 10-14-2011 09:47 AM

Wow so glad that article was written because it reminds me of every POWER RANKING. Its no different.

Rugby Saint II 10-14-2011 12:10 PM

I guess I'm the only one who thought it was a great article............just kidding. It was pure trash.

Saintswrath 10-14-2011 07:34 PM

Dude didn't even put Jason David? The article is trash just for that alone!

Mardigras9 10-14-2011 08:28 PM

Funny, he should have put Reggie top 5 though, even if he is a new fan to the Saints.

QBREES9 10-15-2011 12:16 AM

Bleacher Report, enough said.

Wow, where did you get this picture of a Colorado Driver??

Anyway, back to the topic. This writer claims that even though he had to write a negative article about his favorite team, he was glad because he would get to do some investigation about the history of this said team, namely our New Orleans Saints. Sadly he didn't do very much investigation. He could have easily found 25 overrated Saints players without naming most of the players he has in his list. How about Russell Erklseben (SP) our woeful kicker/punter, but I'm not going to do this guys job for him by going on. Suffice to say that this self claimed fan wasted his opportunity to delve into the rich history that is Saints Football. Well,'there's still time my young apprentice.

No, this is NOT like a Power Ranking, because people nationally might read this and think he knows what he is talking or worse, they think that this is what ACTUAL fans of the Saints think. A power ranking is just misc. BS, this is a misrepresentation of our team and our fans.

I hope everyone reads this and leaves him a negative comment and on top of that sends off a complaint to the editors.

Memnoch_TP 10-15-2011 10:42 AM

I just wasted 90 minutes researching and writing a rebuttal comment ripping this ******* a new *******. Go back, read it, tell me what you think. I put a lot of work into it. It is filled with all that classic Memnoch sarcasm that makes you all love me so much. You can't miss it, it's the wall of text that is probably longer than his whole article (And definitely better researched).

I hope he has the balls to actually reply to it. I also complained about it to the editorial staff, and flagged it as offensive (because it is).

It wasn't 90 minutes wasted. It was a brilliant response. Nice Job!
