What just happend

We just got beat by a team thats not better than we are, and we have no excuses, interesting.

Maverick2299 10-16-2011 06:41 PM

4 turnovers....

Crusader 10-16-2011 06:44 PM

Horrible OL play, no protection and no push at all in the running game. Robinson played a pretty good game on defense but he was very alone in doing that. Brees made a bunch of dumb throws today, looked like he never really got into rythm in this game.

pherein 10-16-2011 06:48 PM

Im just shocked , D and O , had a bad day, we haven't seen that for awhile, I mean wow. What just happened , that was a complete break down.

Cruize 10-16-2011 06:50 PM

Bad game all around. Lost by six on the road to a good team. Hurts. Sucks. Anyone expecting the season to be easy was kidding themselves.

Halo 10-16-2011 06:54 PM

Can't throw 3 int's in ANY NFL football game and expect to beat ANY team... sorry, it's pretty simple.

pherein 10-16-2011 06:57 PM

its not that simple. halo, this was a complete break down against a bad team. How are we going to win a SB if we mess up this bad ? I was freaked out by this game, we completely beat ourselves

Euphoria 10-16-2011 06:58 PM

Well our Defense can make any team look good.

Crusader 10-16-2011 07:00 PM

Graham is a total beast thou.

|Mitch| 10-16-2011 07:01 PM

And why is Tampa Bay classified as a bad team? I think their pretty damn good and should make the playoffs this year...

jcp026 10-16-2011 07:01 PM

4 turnovers is unacceptable. The o-line couldn't run block, except for one play. I'm starting to think Evans and Nicks are overrated.

Colston and Graham looked good. Patrick Robinson looked good. Galette was hustling.

classify them as good, but your really think they should beat us? This was a wake up call for fans, our defense has problems, and sometimes our offense can't win, its shocker to me
Where the #1 offense on the NFL, what happened that the Bucs kicked our ass ? There not even that good.

GAwhodat 10-16-2011 07:06 PM

I don't know WTF happened. Train wreck?? I've said this many times we play our best against teams where we are underdogs and worst against teams we should beat. Been that way for a while.

We threw what 4 INT and still shoulda won it at the end but you know what we didn't deserve to win today for the way that we played.

Halo 10-16-2011 07:08 PM

look, if anyone here thought our defense didn't have cracks in it before this game, you're not paying attention.

If our offense plays mistake free football, we're the best team in the league.
If our offense turns the ball over, we CANNOT depend on this defense to win games--- that's it.

FireVenturi 10-16-2011 07:08 PM

Hard to win 3 straight games on the road. Only like 8 percent of teams have ever done that in NFL history.

strato 10-16-2011 07:11 PM

No int in the endzone and Drew hits Meach....then what? we win!...TOs killed us..and i really think coach getting hurt ..messed with our team.

I honestly didn't know that....

|Mitch| 10-16-2011 07:14 PM

The loss of Payton + Brees late hurt us... Play-calling just wasn't the same...

Belair57 10-16-2011 07:15 PM

Our Oline played like trash. Our D didnt do ANYTHING different than they have done all year, and that means sucking today like theyve done all year, and last year....Playcalling was the same Mitch, cmon...Our Defense cant carry the team when our O has a bad day, and it was going to happen eventually..

pherein 10-16-2011 07:27 PM

This creates a serious problem as a rational person. Exactly how are we going to beat the packers in the NFC campionship with this kind of performace

We had a complete breakdown on the field.......and off the field if you count Payton. I'm sorry that was in bad taste......

Well, we have a problem. O might have had a bad day, happens. But D also, VS the Bucs ? We do this vs Greenbay they will kick our butts, that simple.

TheEnigma 10-16-2011 08:23 PM

Tampa is NOT better then us. I will agree the 4 turnovers killed us, but that last pass play that the refs called a complete pass put the nail in the coffin. If you watch the play you would see the ball hit the ground.

I've never seen that stat before. I'm not doubting you FV, but that game SHOULD have been won today, period. A stat like that is not a good excuse for what we saw on the field today, and it does mot make me feel better.

breesfan27 10-16-2011 08:29 PM

I'm not ready to hit the panic button yet. If that makes me delusional or in denial, then so be it. I think we just had an off day. We need to expect that every once in a while. Given the way our defense has been playing all year, it was bound to happen sooner or later. And why is our D so afraid to tackle? I was also really disappointed in our O-Line. Where's the pass protection? We have a long way to go, and a lot of stuff to work on. I'm still holding on to hope we can finish the season 14-2 if we get our poop in a group and start playing like the team we all know we are.

lynwood 10-16-2011 08:31 PM

We need to stop playing from behind and trying to win on a lst minute drive. We need to step on th egas and keep going. The run waqs not wroking today so it should have been an Airshow except our O-Line took the day off.

Ashley 10-16-2011 08:31 PM

I'll tell you what I think. Yes drew had three ints. Plus let's throw in a fumble. But it's our d. They just plain sux, y'all can bash me all y'all want. No pressure, can't stop anyone. That's why we have to put up 30 or more points a game. Giving up way to may big plays. Our d is no better than last yr.
Oh our o line, can't open a hole for sh*t either.
I think it finally caught up to us.

nola_swammi 10-16-2011 08:39 PM

I am looking on the bright side. Chris Ivory will be back. IT WILL BE INTERESTING WHO WILL BE DEACTIVATED

See other thread when we went through the schedule and said we'd destroy everyone...

If we'd had Jacksonville last, maybe...

But these younger teams in Carolina and Tampa Bay have an upstart attitude and know they can play with the Saints while the rest of the league says "Oh Schiott! How are we gonna cover all these guys and now they have Sproiles and the Beast - Graham!"

My Question "Where is the boost from the first round picks and where was management when we needed to sign FA linebackers and offensive lineman?"

Hard for one of our first round picks to start "boosting" without said offensive linemen...

I don't know why everyone is surprised. Some people act like they have never seen a division game before. Division games are NEVER a gimmee, no matter what either teams record is. Different teams show up during division play. I don't get all the surprise. If it would have been the Colts I could understand it, but we could be 14-0 and our division rival could be 0-14 and they will still play us like they are a Super Bowl contender. It happens more often than not.

OldMaid 10-16-2011 09:08 PM

Saints, few teams win them all. I get that. They lost this one to such a lesser team that is going nowhere, probably.
TampaBucs had luck of being right place/right time for some of those plays and scores. Saints gave them some scores and that is always something just hard to accept for a lost when your team just does some give-a-ways.

Over and out. This lost, ok, over, but I wish the Saints win the next four games then to make up for this "just one." the season is long. Saints are 4-2. Now....

Coach SP, whoa!
Poor guy. Ingram, poor guy must feel so awful right now.
Boy oh boy.
Lost, no whoop in a way, but SP getting hurt like that hurts more. This man has to have surgery first thing tomorrow... then rehabbing his leg, ahhhhh, I just cannot comprehend this now, still.
I still am like, what??
Off to see RH of NJ reunion show. I just cannot deal with watching NFL net or ESPN now.

Dust off and prepare for the next game. No sense kicking ourselves for a complete and thorough failure. Look at the bucs. Got their asses kicked on the road, came back home and beat a superior team. Happens.

One data point does not make a trend.

This was suppose to be one of our easier games. Good teams, win, even by 1pt against Mediocre opponents , Im saying we have a problem. We might win division, but Bucs proved to me the Seahawks game can happen again.

Easy? I disagree. The next two - the Rams and Indy - those "should" be easy, but the Bucs don't suck. They laid an egg last week, but Freeman, IMO, is the best QB in the NFC South not named Drew. Their defense is young and on the rise.

Our offense laid a rare egg today, and our defense isn't good enough to recover from 4 turnovers. It isn't the end of the world. Nothing happened today that I haven't been expecting, and I'm honestly relieved a little that it was Tampa and not some crap team like the Rams.

Saintswrath 10-16-2011 10:15 PM

Everything you could think of that could go wrong, happened..

Lost our Head Coach, Drew Brees lost his damn mind throwing that many Int, Our D never lost a beat with not being able to tackle anybody!! Not even a damn King Cake Baby, unable to stop the run, unable to cover passes, unable to apply pressure to the QB, unable to takeaway the ball, unable to create turnovers, Special Teams never did much either to help, Sproles never broke for anything more than a few measly yards whenever he touched the ball and attempted to run.

Im so upset with this team i don't even want to talk about Anything related to Saints right now.. We played some BAD BALL!!! TB was suppose to be part of our cruise stretch part of our schedule but now we better take every team seriously.

I'm excited about getting Ivory back, too. I don't think Ivory can make the o-line run block worth a darn. Besides that, we don't make much of an effort to run unless we're up 20 in the fourth. Until Nicks, Evans, and Kreutz get it together it doesn't matter.

Ditto. I'm a sore loser. Pherein, you're right on, bro, as well.

But not as sore as Cam Newton. Did he actually run off the field and not shake with Matty today?! He's a frikin' rookie. Shameful.

It's that entitlement generation getting out of college I tell you.

darstep 10-16-2011 11:00 PM

No more rabbits in the hat. We used them all up. If Drew finds Meachem on the other side of the endzone, we have a totally different postgame conversation. How many 4th quarter comebacks can we actually pull off? How many times do you guys think we could keep going to the well before coming up empty? How many times could we position oursevles down in the 4th and force ourselves to have to be perfect? We are 4-2, that shakes out at about 11-5 or so. We just need to reload that hat.
