They both went pro baseball. Both went a few years without throwing a football in order to pursue their basbeall careers. Both prolific passers in college during their short tenure, Hutch with Stanford, Henson with Michigan. Both were considered potential 1st round picks had they continued in football. I think Henson had better numbers in college than Hutch, but he only started eight games, whereas Hutch started two years. In his short time with Michigan, I believe his QB passer rating was in the 150 range, which would be jaw dropping, except that he didn\'t play but a short stint.

The waiting drove me mad....

So make the trade , cut J.T. and send Henson to NFLE to get him accustomed to throwing a football , might fit with your thought there ???

From what I\'ve seen in the past, in every case, QB\'s with potential suffer by going pro baseball. I\'ll give this guy 4 years minimum before he\'s ready to make an impact on the NFL. That would put him at 28 years of age before he starts his first game. He could prove me wrong, but history says he won\'t.

I will take that number . Should be about the time Brooks wants to renegotiate his contract . Cap friendly number looks like it is going to be the biggest issue .Would you keep him as a number 2 ???

Sounds like we might have a better shot than some other teams. The trade itself sounds complicated. If a deal is not made, he is thrown back into the pool for this years draft. From what I am hearing, if Houston got a deal together with another team, they would need to do a sign and trade, and the team that is trading for him would need cap room from last year in order to trade for him.
EDIT: If he performs well at the tryouts, I\'d give him a shot, but I don\'t want to give away too much. We have alot of needs right now that could be addressed in this year\'s draft. but if the perfect deal came along, and he looks like he has the potential, it\'s hard to say no.

I still think the Eli deal makes a lot more sense.

We could benefit hugely from an intelligent QB.

I found the value chart that all the coaches use to determine the worth of draft picks, and our 1st, two 2nd\'s, and our 3rd would get us up to the 4th overall pick, max.

BnB,

What does adding Brooks do to that mix though?
