Payton has been consistent sense 2006, and thats an amazing feat. He has Fielded what could be argued as the best offense for the last 6 years.

In 2009 -2010 our defense was rated ok. But we had take aways in 2009 to make it look good. In 2010 there was a huge improvement, and I was a complete GW homer. He was doing his job. We were getting better.
This year so far BOTH sides of the ball have completely failed. We are worse than in 2009 and not many turn overs to make the defense look good. So the offense has to carry the team, like it did in 2006- 2008.

He made moves to fix our DL in the offseason. Seems they haven't worked.
Now we are changing up the secondary, that worked for us in 2010, leaving us vulnerable on 2 fronts. What GW doing? and can he fix this before we get into the playoffs ?

Of course the funny thing is our defense is still better than the failclowns, currently ranked #26

Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before.

Yea... our defense isn't forcing as many turnovers as in 2009. I noticed that.

I believe those stats you are citing were taken before the Colts game. Here is a link to more updated stats:

NFL Stats: by Team Category

We have the 14th ranked defense in the league currently, not terrible, not great. Also here is a link to our passing and rushing defense:

THe offense and Defense has to play hand in hand.

Ingram in the mix is design to help slow the game down, running the ball more. On the other side the defense has to be able to stop other teams from running on us... fail.

So our offense has to open it up and score a lot to keep up with other teams.

Yes the decline in our D not being able to get the INT's like they once did but if that isn't happening you got to do other things and we can't.

The play of our DE and OLB is killing us on D right now.

I AM NOT "OK" with being ok on defense. Being ok is for losers.

So if the team finished 8-8 you'd be ok with that... I think not.

I figure we have 1-3 more years, we have 1 to 3 more years to win another Super Bowl with Bree's at the helm. Then its back to the drawing board.

Some of the tackling issues could be resolved if they stop trying to strip the ball and actually wrap up the ballcarrier sometimes KISS works best

No , please never use NFL stats they are really simplistic, and not close to accurate. The site I used is way more accurate. NFL site uses yds per game, which does not come near to really ranking a offense or defense in the NFL. They don't even separate passing TD's from rushing TD's.

There are also other way better stat sites you can use to see how we compare to a team that we are about to play.

Advanced NFL Stats

As you can see they really break down team efficiency .

NFL site is ok for up to date #'s, sometime, really nothing else.

Yeah, Im also mainly worried about are pass defense decline from 2010.
Our rush defense was never that great, but Greer actually was 2nd only to Revis in 2009, and in 2010, even without turnovers we improved to be #4 in the NFL.
But because of the changed positions of porter and robinson, and OLB, we have taken a nose dive in the secondary.

..and consider that we have faced 2 rookie QB's Colts/Jags and are still ranked #22 against the pass. The experiment seems like its not working for GW.

Im not sure if the new guys are not getting GW's scheme or if they just can't play the position as well as the 2010 secondary, but we can't go into the playoffs not being able to stop BOTH side of the ball. Id be happy if we just fixed the secondary, because if we play Rogers again, all indication is that he will torch robinson and our secondary again.

and if we win that game...what if we get the Patriots and Brady in the SB?
BB is not one to make a mistake 2x, and the Pats want blood for the beat down we put on them, and a 4th ring. Right now our secondary would be raped by a good QB like Brady. Our offense would have to trade scores with them.
Rush/Pass has to improve drastically in the second 1/2 of the season.
yeah, Fire/Ragin our tackling is not good. We try to strip the ball more than tackle.
