How many of you think....

How many of you think one of the following:

Somewhere in between 1 and 2.

I went with #1. We cant seem to put more than one complete game together. The key word being complete.

Mardigras9 10-31-2011 01:13 PM

Of those, probably #2, we just laid an egg. Isn't the norm. Tampa will suffer because of it.

Desire was a good deal of it. They had it, we didn't. The Rams looked enraged. I didn't think they had it in them at this point but low and behold they showed up. They did make a lot of mistakes which shows why they have struggled..stupid penalties, dropped passes, giving up a defensive TD, but their defense was relentless. They were comitted to not letting Brees stand back there and pulling off another Colts circus act.

saintfan 10-31-2011 01:32 PM

I voted for overlooked, but like Beastmode said, they had the spark and we just didn't.

Talent, desire, and skill if you have all 3 you usually overcome. I hope the boys read this and it rubs their chaped butts even worse than the Rams did. They can thank themselves for getting manhandled not the Rams.

WhoDat!656 10-31-2011 02:32 PM

I ask myself how can a team that, except for two plays, the Colston fumble and the bad play call at the end of the game, probably would have beaten the defending Super Bowl champions, and to some degree the Texans game, could lose to a team as bad as the Rams?

strato 10-31-2011 02:34 PM

We overlooked the Rams plain and simple...we were flat and no fire...we messed around the whole first half..never committed to the running game..and that's what happens when you **** around...you lose

Halo 10-31-2011 02:48 PM

Overlooked them and underperformed. Thought we were going to coast with previous weeks gameplan.
Can't put my finger on it but one week we're as hot as molten lava, the second week as cold as an iceberg.

This, accompanied with the "Cardinals factor."

Belair57 10-31-2011 08:29 PM

should be another option for WE JUST SUCKED

|Mitch| 10-31-2011 08:37 PM

We overlooked them, no doubt about it! Looked like we didn't have a game-plan at all and sure didn't have any adjustments planned.

Went in with the mindset that we would do the same thing to Feeley like we did with Painter, and must have forgotten all about Jackson.

skymike 11-01-2011 05:26 AM

I love polls.
the only thing cooler than polls are power rankings.

But you didnt have an option for "The Cardinals won the World Series
and got the fans all pumped up."

Saint_LB 11-01-2011 06:20 AM

Any given Sunday when the baseball team that represents the city you are going to play has just phenomenally come back from being down by 2 games and comes back to win the World Series by winning 2 at home.

I don't think we have overcome FA/Injury Losses in Fujita and Sharper; their physical skills were good, not great, but their leadership and presence were significant; I really don't see leadership on the defense.

On offense, I consider the same impact Stinchcomb (who I admit I criticised heavily until I learned Coach Payton had been less than forthcoming regarding his injuries) as well as Goodwin have had...

Drew can't be in everyone's ear and his message loses impact unless you have these second tier level capos supporting, keeping other players on message...

I also believe Greg Williams loses impact, as his history suggests, after initially jump starting play...

You're not being less of a fan when obvious criticism is apparent; those of us who have been fans since the beginning have as much a right as fans to understand and see what's been going on and voice their opinion...

After years of futility, from '87-'92, we watch as probably one of the greatest defenses take the field and for five years watch as Jim Mora stupidly kept playcalling predictable, conservative and Ownership fail to pony up and get a real quarterback and/or wide receiver for that team...

Many of us know that this is a special unit on offense, that is has a shelf life, and when you are this close, you don't half-a$$ it, you get the first round draft picks right and get free agents to make the other units complete, if not elite...
