They had something about this on a show called Monsterquest on the History channel awhile ago. They are called rods, and are bugs.

hmm, just looking at the video, thats pretty far away for a bug to show up. No telling what it was, interesting though.

It's a plaaaaannnneee!
The film was sped up for the broadcast which makes it look like the "object" is flying by really fast. The solid line that you see in the slow motion is the landing lights. The the reason it's elongated, is because that's how for the plane traveled in 1/30th of a second, the standard length of exposure time for one frame of film, or tape (I think it's higher for HD). The dots are the strobes on the wing and tail. They actually turn on and off several hundred times a second during a single "flash" because of the square wave signal sent to them. Our eyes can't detect those micro-second flashes. Sorry to be a UFO party pooper, but it's just the facts. :-D
