Drew's Decision Making

I love Drew and wouldn't trade him for the world. I realize that the more you throw the higher the risk for some bad things to occur, but sometimes his decision making on forcing balls becomes nerve wracking. It is difficult to rag on the guy as much as he has done for the team but enough is enough with the interceptions. No one is immune from criticizm!

I agree Sub. It is very frustrating to watch Drew throw the pics. Not really sure why its happening so much. I know he doesn't look as calm as he used to in the pocket. I really don't think he trusts his line. He's been hit too many times this year.

My favorite player by far, and he is a good person, but I tend to agree- he needs to protect the ball a bit more. I like that he is aggressive with the ball, but sometimes he makes some bonehead plays.

I think he doesn't have much faith in his oline. It's been so shaky this season. I think some consistent oline play will get Brees back in his 2009 form.

He has also thrown the ball 58 more times than anyone else this season. That's a LOT more considering we are only at week 9, he is a full 2 games worth of passing ahead of most QBs, 3 games for some QBs. He is relied on more than any QB in the league, and because of that, I'm willing to cut him a little slack in that department. He needs to be more careful with the ball, but the guy throws 42 passes per game, that's insane.

Look at it this way, if we ran the ball more, we would see an increase in fumbles. Turnovers are part of the game, and if you pass a lot, expect more interceptions, if you run the ball more, expect more fumbles. Not to mention, a couple of his INTs were on pretty well thrown passes that were tipped.

He is on track for 37 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, and 5,300 yards, on 672 attempts.

So would I like less INTs? Yeah, absolutely, but I also can't blame it all on Brees.

I think he hasnt been given the time he is used to, and hes ancy, making him force the ball before he is ready sometimes..but man, when he is on he is on. and when he is forcing it, its not just once in a while it tends to be for an entire half, or game sometimes.

The reason yall like him is the reason for the INT's.

He takes chances... you don't throw the ball the amount of times he does and not get INT's.

Some of them aren't his fault and some are. But he gets to a time where he has to throw the ball and he has to take a chance and rely on the target to make a play or even to make sure that the ball isn't intercepted almost playing defender instead of receiver.

Even Bret has his fair share of INT's.

I love Drew for what he has done for the team & for the city BUT he is not EVER going to make a league MVP throwing this many Ints!! He also should not get the same amount of bucks that a Brady does because of that!!

(let the disagreemants fly....!)

I don't want Drew compared to Brett, thanks! I understand your point Euph, but not **** like the one he did yesterday, or the one in the end-zone he threw in Tampa. That's just crap mistakes man. He could do well to live without those. You're right though, I do love that he is aggressive, and I don't mind those Int's, but the one like yesterday is just bad play!

He is also #1 in passing yards, #2 in completion percentage, touchdowns, and rating.

I'll take the bad with the good with stats like that...
