Saints win against Tampa Bay is only a first step

NEW ORLEANS ― Sunday was never about atonement for New Orleans.

It was never necessarily about getting revenge for losing three weeks ago to Tampa Bay.

And it was honestly never about even avenging the loss to St. Louis.

Sunday was about a first step.

You can only get two straight wins if you win the first one and now the Saints are on a one-game streak after beating Tampa Bay 27-16 at the Superdome.

You always knew the Saints would bounce back from the loss to the Rams.

That’s what they do. It’s their modus operandi.

They lost to Green Bay to open the season and came home to demolish Chicago.

They lost to the Buccaneers in Week 6 and came home to annihilate Indianapolis.

Now they lost to St. Louis and returned to New Orleans to pick up a gut-check win against a divisional rival.

The next step now is to string along wins, grabbing a much-needed road win in Atlanta next weekend.

They know this.

I think we are going to beat the living crap out of Atlanta, just sitting here thinking about it makes me feel better. Ball protection,aerial assault,and the O-line push to run it down their throat, we know we got it and Atlanta knows we got it=Atlanta's problem. Defense does what they can do= 2X the problems for Patty Ice and his feathered friends. Play Saints ball and we will play well. Everyone that watched the game Sunday now knows what we are truely capable of doing, Tampa is not at all a push over, I like the mean and determine Saints we are now. There are no more excuses anymore!!!!!

I don't know how anyone can think that we can beat the living crap out of Atlanta. Sure we CAN and SHOULD beat the crap out of Atlanta, but this team won't let me get comfortable enough to think we are going to beat the crap out of anyone. This Jekyle and Hyde **** is pissing me off. We have some major issues, and seem to mask and overcome them, but they are still there. Until I see some consistancy, I will go into every week weary. We HAVE to win this game. IF we split with Atlanta their schedule looks pretty favorable and I think we need to sweep them to win the division.

Falcons 5-3
Giants 6-2
Lions 6-2

Lots of pieces to the playoff puzzle will become clearer this month for the Saints.
