Given how fragile running backs are in general and even more so on the Saints, adding a top quality back was smart both short and long run. Ivory's return was not guaranteed, PT hasn't made it through a full season ever, and sproles will wear out if we subject his light frame to bruiser back duty.

So far no elite back has been healthy every game this season. One must have realistic criteria or one might be viewed in the same vein as Rick Perry.

And one must have a realistic view of reality or one might be viewed in the same vein as Barack Obama. ;)

Looking at it again...i like Ingram and see a good future for him...with that said..did we do the right thing?..look around the league and the RBs who were drafted low or not drafted at all...and are doing good...

RB in the first is almost non existent nowadays ...kinda wish we would have went with a OLB...but it is what is ..

I hope Mark can have a great career with us..and prove his worth..

He is a Saint now and i will back em no matter what!

What’s that? Ah, disappointed?
Don’t talk about – disappointed?
You kidding me? disappointed?

Had we stayed put which OLB would you have taken in the 2nd round?

Miller Ayers Carter and Reed were all gone. The next two OLB's selected were Moch and Mouton and neither has even played a down yet.

Maybe Foster? He went in the 3rd round.

When I mocked the draft as we got closer, I had Foster as the Saints 2nd or early 3rd pick - I liked his attitude, motor, and love for the game. You can't measure it, but you damn well better be paying attention in interviews...

Also, I like KJ Wright out of Mississippi State - they always produce really good pros on the Defensive Side - he's playing and contributing for Seattle already...

I ain't disappointed ...... yet.

Overall Ingram offers the Saints a very balance RB team. There is no guarantee any player definitely delivers.
