Time for venturie to retire?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I am a firm believer that rick venturie has passed his prime and we need to look for a newer generation defensive cordinator ! any reaction to this comment? [Edited on 15/2/2004 by saintsfan4life]...

How about a defensive coordinator , turned Head Coach who allows his defenses to continuously rank in the lower half of the defensive rankings ???

Why stop at Venturi , look at the general discipline within the team , Horn makes his Delhomme statements and attacks the decision making capabilities of the Head Coach . Venturi is only allowed to underachieve because a higher authority allows it .

Saintz8 I agree with your line of thinking , I feel venturie was a start only with more to follow. Thanks for your thoughts

Consider this for example :

When the Patriots announced Belichick’s hiring, many regarded him as one of the premier defensive strategists in the game. That reputation was earned over a 25-year NFL coaching career that included Super Bowl titles as the defensive architect of the New York Giants in 1986 and 1990.

With Belichick\'s Head Coaching in New England , he has brought his defensive knowledge to the Patriots and has improved the team in his area of expertice.

This is Haslett\'s second tour of duty in New Orleans. He spent two years with the Saints, first as the linebackers coach in 1995 followed by a one-year stint as the defensive coordinator under Mora in 1996.

Haslett\'s area of expertice, well that continues to be the weak link in New Orleans .
